Please kindly rephrase. Your statement doesn’t really make much sense.Once a priest told me they are acussed and are conservative on wellcoming new converts even sending away people advicing them to go back to their denomination.

Proselytizing is either taking advantage of a person’s ignorance, or requiring conversion as a means to some other end. Conversion is working with a person so they understand what it is to be Catholic and what Catholicism teaches so they can make an informed decision.I don’t get the “don’t proselytise” thing. What is the difference between proselytising and evangelising? If we believe that we are the one true Church, why would we not want people to convert, leave their current denominaton and join the one true Church?
http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/c...th_doc_20071203_nota-evangelizzazione_en.htmlThe term proselytism originated in the context of Judaism, in which the term proselyte referred to someone who, coming from the gentiles, had passed into the Chosen People. So too, in the Christian context, the term proselytism was often used as a synonym for missionary activity. More recently, however, the term has taken on a negative connotation, to mean the promotion of a religion by using means, and for motives, contrary to the spirit of the Gospel; that is, which do not safeguard the freedom and dignity of the human person. It is in this sense that the term proselytism is understood in the context of the ecumenical movement: cf. The Joint Working Group between the Catholic Church and the World Council of Churches, “The Challenge of Proselytism and the Calling to Common Witness” (1995).
It seems to me that there is a language issue at play. I suspect the OP’s main language is not English. What is this thread about? It’s so confusing.
‘The war for souls’. I shall ponder that further. My initial thought is that all wars have casualties and even those not involved in the war become victims. However, if Catholics did “steal” people from other denominations, all’s fair in love and the war for souls.
it’s not like “other denominations” haven’t “stolen” their share of Catholics.
