Hi everyone,
I remember reading that at least 14 candles, which are each individually at least 51% beeswax, are to be burning on the altar whenever the Blessed Sacrament is exposed for adoration.
But, the local novus ordo parish here, uses those liquid fuel type candles which are see through and use no kind of wax at all. There are not even 7 “candles” total.
I know the requirement in the usus antiquior way is to have 14 candles, and a corporal laid out too.
Where can I find information about the present rubrics, I’m pretty sure its still 14 candles, but I would like to have the proof to present it to the priest and perhaps have this changed and done right. I looked in the GIRM and modern Roman Ritual, I didn’t see it in there. Can anyone give me a link or pdf to the liturgical book that specifies the requirements for novus ordo adoration?
Thanks and God bless,

P.S. for the Dominican fathers, brothers, sisters, nuns, people’s whose Patron saint is St. Dominic and all men named Dominic, Happy feast day (I’m writing this on Sunday, a day early, but by the time people will’ve read this it’ll be August 4th).
