im not sure if this is in the right forumm however i have a querie and thought you might be able to help.
i would like to be confirmed however there is only a catacism class for children in our parish (and every neighboring parish i have enquireed at so far) i tried atending these but they assume you already know the basics , when i asked what the fruits of the spirit where the teacher (who was younger than me) just looked at me blankly and said if i didnt know that i shouldnt be coming to conformation!
there are sertain aspects of catholasism that dont get seen outside the catholic church (eg. praying the hours , fasting ((i do actualy know about these)) .) and it is this i need to be taught , not which half of the bible has jesus in it and how to pronounce deutronamy.
i was wondering if you knew of any books that would be of help (sort of a d.i.y. catacism ) untill i can find a parish that has adult classes . i tried asking father taylor but he said he had never taught adult catacism so didnt know where to direct me . (and after a scouge through the presbetary libry it seems the parish has never held A.C. classes!)
any sugestions will be greatfully received.
