For those who keep an Advent wreath at home, where in your home do you put it and how often do you light it?

Edited to add this question: how long do you leave it lit?

Ours is on the dining table ([barely] visible from the street—we live on the fourth floor) and we light it every evening at dinnertime. It burns until the candle extinguishes itself (we use tealights).

Ours is near the Jesse tree and my shelf(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.) please excuse the mess I haven’t cleaned up this morning yet

Thanks for that and no apology needed. Our home is such a pigsty that I don’t dare post a photo 😬

Lol kids are great at that as is advent am so glad my shelf is in our living room/lounge / family room and not in my kitchen. My kitchen is a huge mess after the kids have been in there.

Our kitchen is a huge mess after we’ve been in there. We don’t have kids 😬

So…do you light the wreath once a week on Sundays, or more often (I assume you don’t do so less often)? And how long do you let the candles burn each time you light them?

We light ours on the table during meals and move it to the piano between meals.

I was naughty beacuse we have small kids I have battery powered candles I didn’t want any accidental fires I just leave mine on (Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

Is it only lit on the table and moved to the piano once you’ve extinguished the candles? Also, how often do you light it?

Mr 5 has had a battery candle going in his room all night every night for the last week and a half and its still going strong, but I’m really not to sure if the first one will last the whole 4 weeks if it does great if not I will just replace the batteries

Only lit on the table when we sit down together for a meal. So atleast once, sometimes three times a day. The kids fight over who gets to blow them out and sometimes I have to relight them so they can each blow them out.

We have this problem with our prayer candle we light before we say Grace at dinner time.
Trying to teach the kids to take turns but this doesn’t always work.

It’s on my dining room table and I only light it a few hours on Sundays. I don’t like to have candles burning unattended, and it’s just me.

I light candle on Sunday after mass and leave it for a few hours…I have the wreath on my dining room table…I will light all the candles and let them burn out on Christmas day…

Lol that was totally my brothers and I when we were younger. And then when we got older, we wanted to be the one to light the candles. We would take turns each night.

I’ve continued what my parents did, which is the same as you - lighting the Advent wreath any time we sit down to eat. Always a big deal when Christmas is at the end of the week…seeing if that 1st candle will last all Advent! Haha

Well, I can tell you what the plan is. Who knows if we can pull it off!

Ours is sitting on our kitchen table. We always have a centerpiece of some sort on the table, so the advent wreath has replaced that. It will stay for the whole season. We will light the wreath everyday at dinner and extinguish it after dinner. (We might need replacement candles as a result.)

Ours is the centerpiece for our dinning room table and we light it at during dinner.
