Good one!

Glad you found this link.

Excellent!

[By the way, I did buy the “Dangerous Book for Boys” just to check on what I may have missed. Also excellent.]

What a great idea. When I was in elem. school, we used to spend our entire recess periods either creating ever-larger and more elaborate games of tag, or inventing massive card games (if it was raining). Friendship bracelets and chinese jump rope were very popular, as were sitting in weed patches, rubbing our chins with dandelions to “see who liked butter” and looking for Queen Anne’s lace flowers with red hearts. I always wonder if today’s overscheduled kids get to do such fun things in between extra-long school days, lessons for three different sports, a foreign language, and a musical instrument, and the ever-increasing amounts of homework to prepare for standardized tests. I’m so glad I was a kid 20 years ago and not now.

I looked at an excerpt from the book on Amazon. I love that in the list of essentials, they listed a hair tie. Even now I keep one in my pocket at all times. They come in ridiculously handy. 🙂
