Your normal Sunday attire should do. You may bring a head covering, just in case all the women there wear one. But it seems they are getting rarer in the EF.
So… how was it?There’s another one this evening! It’s at 7pm which is a much more reasonable to be time to be awake! Anyway I’m very excited.
Overall, I enjoyed it. It was very different from what I am used to (obviously), I found it difficult at first to sort of relax because it is so much more an interior celebration than the OF and I wasn’t quite prepared for that aspect of it. My anxiety probably wasn’t helped by the people in front of me moving to a pew behind me just as the Mass started so I kept peeking over my shoulder to make sure I was doing the right thing. It did get me over my weird fear of receiving COTT though (weird personal space thing) which was good. I actually really liked that Communion isn’t received quite as much to the end of the Mass as it is the OF. Though I found the way the priest faced away from the congregation to be quite bizarre, though I am sure there is reasoning behind that.
Was it a low mass?
Yes, was it? And you can tell by if there was a lot of music or none.

Right, because the priest is not the focus of the mass. I don’t understand why some people get so mad at ad orientem worship when they see it. They don’t even understand it. Most of this comes from the middle aged and elderly generation. Most young people seem open to it. I think this is due to those people feeling offended, as they were wrongly told by clergy when they were young that everything “before now” (1965ish) was “wrong” and they grew up with that being verbally spat all over the place, and it is so deeply ingrained into their psyches that they ignorantly get bothered by things when they are contrary to what they were taught.
I hope you can attend a sung mass too. A low mass,especially coming from an NOM filled with music, takes some getting used to, in my opinion.
No way my friend! I have so far only attended Low Masses, and they are absoluely amazing! You can even pray your Rosary during it!

I don’t know about anyone else, but I am glad my first mass was a high mass. It blew me away.
I can’t wait to attend one myself.
And also honestly, even though I could be praying the Rosary or even the Jesus prayer, I prefer to focus more on what is happening on the Altar. But I understand there are two opinions on this.
Of course we should be focusing on the Altar, I do that myself, but I like the idea of meditating on the Holy Mysteries of the Rosary while focusing on the Altar. Multitasking.
It took me about 8 low masses, but I finally like attending a low mass now. Boy did I struggle before. Did you see this thread I had started, LOL.
Right, I understand. Coming from Protestantism myself, I get the, “LET’S SING!” thing, although I wasn’t much obliged to it when I was a Protestant. I always was very skeptical of my Protestantism.
