In all blunt honesty, I don’t know where these clown Masses happen, yet Trads insist they’re everywhere outside of their own inner circle.
He didn’t address them as clown Masses, but I believe Card Ratzinger noted that there was enough RUPTURE of continuity that the Vatican needed to do something about it, under both the pontificate of John Paul II and his own. Cardindal Arinze also gave reasons for Summorum Pontificum in one of his videos.

To the OP: GET AWAY! SSPV and their Sedevacantist ilk are a pack of elitist lunatics who will demand that you believe, at the expense of your own intellect, that the Jews, Freemasons, Communists, and Protestants are controlling everything from the Vatican to the price of sour cream. They also tend towards creationism, heliocentrism, and Holocaust denial.

And if you question them on any of that, or express any thought independent of their collective opinion, they will rapidly brand you a heretic and a Modernist.
Can you show us where SSPV has ever tried to control the price of sour cream? They may be opposed to clown Masses and ballet dancing at Mass, and they may favor the Gregorian chant instead of popular guitar music, but I doubt that they have tried to control the price of sour cream.

While some go as far as “Bogus Ordo” – the “low opinion”-- is still derogatory toward the OF-- and some will go “seeking” for advice on how to tear down the OF – to manipulate others into the “mind set” – that the OF is “modernist/inferior/protestant/etc.etc”.
Yes, one can find many negative statements regarding the OF if one reads traditionalist sites. It is also true that people are more likely to refer to it as Novus Ordo on those sites. It does not follow that “Novus Ordo” is, in itself, a derogatory term. If you persist in seeing it that way, you will end up taking offense when none is meant.

It’s taken as the toxic trads mean it. And I’ll repeat again —the toxic "Trad’ sites – speak for themselves – so trying to do “damage control”/white washing the toxicity found in those places – just ends up superfluous.

Since I consider myself a trad I spend a lot of time on trad sites. I freely concede that problematic comments and attitudes are common. Nevertheless, it is not damage control to tell you sometimes Novus Ordo is used as a neutral term.

Of course – that’s the need for the white washing/damage control.

It’s called hyperbole, bro. 😉 I know that’s not literally true, but such people get so under my skin that I can’t resist. But I have heard them say many off-the-wall things, such as:
  1. St. Joseph the Worker is evidence of Communist infiltration of the Church
  2. That the rejected portions of the La Salette visions (which say that “Rome will become the seat of the antichrist”) are valid.
  3. That anyone who isn’t a part of their inner circle is a scheming Modernist, a clone of Judas, and ultimately an agent of Satan.
  4. That every pope since after Pius XII has been a Freemason, as well as Ignatius of Loyola
  5. That Vatican II was infiltrated by - you guessed it - the usual suspects listed above.

I sometimes use the term Novus Ordo to name that form of Mass. I do not intend any insult or disrespect to the OF when I do that.

The term Novus Ordo is neutral in itself. The problem is what some are saying about it. If we went through a trad site and replaced every instance of Novus Ordo with Ordinary Form, it would not make it any less negative.

I am just trying to explain something about word usage. I am not trying to make excuses for trad sites.

Novus Ordo – is still the preferred negative sense in the toxic trad sites-- like just one example – asking advice on how to make people believe the Novus Ordo is wrong.

Would it be any better if they asked for advice on how to make people believe that the Ordinary Form is wrong? The problem here is not the name being used for the Mass; it’s what they are saying about it.

Imagine there was a site where lots of the members hated men and wrote many things complaining about men. Would that mean that “man” was a bad word?
