So I live in Seattle, and a small group at my parish recently asked our pastor if he would be willing to offer a regular EF Mass. His response was ‘I’m perfectly willing, I just don’t know the rite and I don’t know the Latin.’ Then he went on to say that there is an FSSP priest coming sometime soon(I heard around October) to the Seattle area to set up a parish, and he would try and get him to teach it. Now my question is- what’s the best way to go forward? Does anyone have any experience with getting an EF Mass said at your parish? Should our ‘group’ remind him come October, or should we leave it alone and let it run its course? Should we offer to try and scrounge money to pay for a new altar missal/sacramentary/hand missals for the pews/etc?
Any help would be appreciated, especially from people who’ve worked with their pastor, and gotten a TLM. Thanks in advance = )
