That’s a value judgement. Keeping or firing both have their costs. I can only say that selecting another leader is consistent with what I recall on the moral views of Southern Baptist.

What do they mean “coming out?”

Probably that the person made generally known that instead of identifying as a male, as the congregation probably knew the person, that the person considered themself a woman.

Lorne Park Baptist Church is part of Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec, which in turn is part of Canadian Baptist Ministries and the Baptist World Alliance. I’m not sure where you are from. If you’re from the US, the biggest Baptist organisation is the Southern Baptist Convention, which indeed does not recognise women in ordained ministry. However, you have to bear in mind that the Southern Baptists are actually not particularly typical of Baptists around the world. Here in Great Britain, the main Baptist organisation is the Baptist Union of Great Britain, which is also affiliated with the Baptist World Alliance. Over here, it is the norm for Baptist churches to have women in ordained ministry. The first woman to become a Baptist minister in Great Britain was the Revd Edith Gates in 1918. The first woman to become a minister in the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec was the Revd Muriel Spurgeon (later Carder) in 1947.

Here’s the thing, Baptists practise congregationalism. Members of the local congregation vote to decide who gets to be hired to pastor their congregation. There are no bishops. No appeals process. It’s all done by voting. No one is entitled to serve a Baptist congregation. Given the fact this congregation is “Bible-believing”, this really shouldn’t be a surprise.

They led the charge to cancel JK Rowling.
So naturally ,they’re having a lot of fun interviewing this pastor boo-hooing over the alleged persecution.

Because Vox’s writers want to make you mad and it’s readership (and writers) tend to be extremely Low Information about religion or are the malcontent ex-practitioners of the religions their parents “crammed down” their throat.

I don’t pay any attention to what Vox says about any religious topic, for the reasons you mentioned, so the fact that its anti-religious editors are running this story is just more reason for me to file it under “don’t care”.

Besides, we’re talking about a Protestant. Presumably the answer to the Protestant church being mean to some minister is that the minister simply goes off and starts his own church free of any such gender constraints. It’s how they typically handle disagreements.
