So would it be okay if I stopped donating to the poor, stopped helping people, when I see someone in trouble dont do anything, and instead just stay home and just pray the Rosary everyday since the Roasry is the most powerful tool?

Who has said that the only thing a person should do is pray the Rosary? The Rosary is the best tool in certain situations, especially in confronting evil. The subject at hand is the situation in Nigeria, with the brutal Boco Haram. That doesn’t mean that other means can’t be used to help those who have suffered under this evil group. We don’t live in Nigeria. It’s a very difficult situation. Those can be situations in which the Rosary (recourse to our Lady) can help very much. Though I also pray the Rosary with intentions for helping those who are ill, It’s not the only way I help them, though. But for people I know who live far away, it’s a good way to help.

Come on nobody said that. We can breath, see and walk at the same time.

You can do all of that including praying the Rosary every night.

I hate to sound like a pessimist here, but has the Rosary alone, ever brought down any real world powers before? For example, it seems like all the years of people consistently praying outside of abortion clinics, privately within their homes, and in church, has never had any real world impact in abolishing the practice of abortion, and in fact abortion numbers have grown and continue to grow.
Well, years ago, Communism was brought down. I have no doubt that it was due to the prayers of the faithful.

There are spiritual and corporal works of mercy and Christians are commanded to do both. They are not mutually exclusive.

Honestly, I think your above post is offensive, as you seem to imply stupidity on our part.

Your wrong
The super power USSR was felled by the power of prayer.
The prayers in front of abortion clinics have led to the decrease in abortions in the face of powerful media and political pressure.for their normalization.

Have faith

“The Rosary is a powerful weapon to put the demons to flight and to keep oneself from sin…If you desire peace in your hearts, in your homes, and in your country, assemble each evening to recite the Rosary. Let not even one day pass without saying it, no matter how burdened you may be with many cares and labors.”
~ Pope Pius XI ~

Whos to say it wasnt all the prayers to Krishna that brought Communism down?

If youre making reference to Fatima, the third secret was written/revealed after the fact, no prophecy took place. It wasnt the Rosary that brought Communism down.

Yes, but if the Rosary is the most powerful, all the rest of the tools are needless it would appear. Just go with what is most powerful.

It’s no different to living a healthy lifestyle, if you don’t balance exercise + eat/drink the healthy stuff + get enough sleep your body suffers. Sure any one of those things are probably the most important ingredient in staying healthy but if you don’t do all three, they all suffer.

Re - new start today! Not waiting till night time to say the rosary (I know how many times I have asked my Guardian Angel to finish for me if I fell asleep!) Every day beginning today the rosary will be my weapon like Padre Pio! Join me!

To use your anaology somewhat, if a person has canncerous tumor, living a healthy lifestyle isnt going to get rid of it, only surgical removal will get rid of it. So in the end, just go with what is most effective- medical treatment.

I think the key to getting rid of Boko Haram isnt prayer, but military force. As the saying goes, “God helps those who help themselves.”

“I demand from you deeds of mercy which are to arise out of
love for me. You are to show mercy to your neighbors always and everywhere. You must not shrink from this or try to excuse or absolve from it. I am giving you three ways of exercising mercy toward your neighbor: the first - by deed, the second - by word, the third - by prayer. In these three degrees is contained the fullness of mercy, and it is an unquestionable proof of love for Me. By this means a soul glorifies and pays reverence to My mercy” (Diary of St Faustina, 742). (Emphasis mine)

I think it’s up to your conscience on how you apply mercy, but if you have the financial means to donate you most likely should.

In this most recent instance, the Bishop in Nigeria reported his vision of Christ handing him a sword which turned into a Rosary and said “Boko Haram is gone!” three times. He reported this when it happened. Then merely weeks later, Boko Haram is definitely on the decline and many of their hostages have been freed. If you want to see that as coincidence, that’s your rights, but I see that as a sign followed by a miracle.

We all have different stations of life… that is what is said.

Sometimes it is to help the poor and others directly, it might be to read the Bible and other sacred materials, it can be to pray the Rosary, Divine Mercy or go to Church, Eucharistic Adoration or Mass.

Do you swat flies with a flyswatter? or a sledgehammer?

Wrong analogy, as the harm being done by Boko Haram is no joke. Using the Rosary to bring them down is like trying to demolish a building with said flyswatter. Wrong tool.

I was replying mostly to your “Just go with what is most powerful.”

So, given that the bishop said, “As soon as I received the sword, it turned into a rosary,” adding that Jesus then told him three times: “Boko Haram is gone," I fail to see how the rosary is the “wrong tool” to bring down Boko Haram.

Prayer is the tool, but the response to the prayer is God’s choice. Perhaps God will work in the hearts of Boko Haram and change their methods, or even their hearts. Perhaps He will allow their leader to be stricken down by disease or a bullet which might cripple their organization. Perhaps He will allow the entire organization to be destroyed militarily. Additionally, we are not limited to prayer, but we MUST pray. Note that in WWI Catholic soldiers were issued Rosaries. It didn’t mean that they were supposed to not do their jobs, but they were still supposed to pray.

Our soul was created to know, love and serve God in this world in order to be with Him in the next. Also, Jesus taught us to Love one another as I have loved you. This is the the top of our purpose. Praying the Rosary is an Act of Faith, Hope and Love to assist you to go forward and live life. Its not one of the Sacraments of the Holy Catholic Church, but is the action of meditating on the life of Jesus and honoring His Holy Mother by requesting her prayers to strengthen ours, and it is pleasing to God!

Somehow I do not want to have your contradiction to have the last word - leaving a sour taste.:ehh:

Holy Michael, Archangel - Defend us in battle!
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

Rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou Oh Prince of the Heavenly Hosts,

By the power of God, thrust into hell Satan
all the evil spirits who roam throughout the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen
