That works for his past sins (assuming he actually got baptised as Jesus did afterward? And confessed these sins?)

In any event- how does this shield him from future sins? Like when he beats his wife to a pulp the following week?

Oh really??

There is absolutely no way for the Bible to be the inspired word of God and Sola Scriptura and Sola Fide to be true?

I would love to see this proof sometime.

But it is late, tomorrow I am busy, it is Christmastime, and I am not in the mood for arguing over the internet now anyway.

But just because you think they are debunked, it does not necessarily follow that they have been proven Scripturally false.

The thing that really helped me see this even clearer was when I saw what Paul says happened to us on the cross. Not only did He die there, not only were ALL our sins placed there(I hadn’t committed the first sin back then!), but my *old man *died there too. That’s why II Cor 5:17 says “If then any be in Christ a new creature, the old things are passed away, behold ALL things are made new.” --Douay You either believe that or you don’t. If you are a Christian (are you?) then you suffered the death penalty at the cross and you came out of the grave with Christ. Friend, you are “seated with Christ in the heavenly places!”

Paul himself mentions he hopes to make run the race. Now, our growth in Christ never stops. Neither does the race until we are with him again. We cant just die in/with Christ at baptism, we must rise with him also.

Absolutely. But it is a joyous run, with the One who has chosen me to live with Him for all eternity. Christ took all the wrath. If I turn back, it is because I was never in Him. There is a lot of emotionalism and formalism that passes as regeneration, but it is not. The Day will prove what is what!

Sounds too good to be true.
You know, it is not good. Because its not true.
Why does Christ tell us to do things for others then if we decide we just dont want to because we are “saved” past, present and future sins included?
Why bother running at all?

Yes. And Paul of course knew Christ, but he lnoged to know him in all His fulness. But tell me, what sin that a Christian commits in the future was not punished on the cross 2000 years ago?

A sin he doesn’t repent of.
