With all due respect, Hisalone. . .(and I’ve been told you’re female so I’ll address you as such unless you tell me otherwise)

Hey, brevity is the soul of wit and all, as the Bard pointed out. But unless you’re setting yourself up as a comedienne instead of as a person with some scriptural understanding and a definite belief you want to share, you’ll go beyond calling posts ‘gobbledegook’ to at least say WHY you think they’re gobbledegook.

Otherwise you come across as an ignorant Yahoo (cf. Mr. Swift’s tale) only here to make random volleys at the beliefs of others–something which the rules of the forums point out as a ‘no-no’.
It was a quote from an ECF that she called “goobleygook”, so my guess is that is code for “I do not understand this, but because a Catholic is using it in support of a doctrine, it is false.”

Great heuristics she’s got there.

But would it not be easier to say. Oh you are right you got me there. Or Yes something I need to think about. But why bring knife to a gun fight. And then when you get shot blame the gunmen. You know what I mean. Its like take a kitten away from its Mom before its ready and blame the cat for attacking you.

Of course. We can tell from these discussions she is not an honest person.

I have a question for you, HisAlone. Your proof text, Romans 3:23 has not disproved the Immaculate Conception. I think we need to move past this point.

So here is my question. Why was it necessary for Mary to be physically a virgin if it was not necessary for her to be spiritually immaculate?

**Hi Ashley,

You don’t know what you are talking about! Shhhh don’t tell Ag I said that she has this thing with :nunchuk: They hurt!

God Bless **
:ouch: :ouch: I’ve just seen his new tagline

I warned you people but would you listen??? :ehh:

Too late now 😦

The best I can hope for is the Mods agree to allow him onto the forum with a supervisor - but I can’t shake off the notion some of us here are going to be eaten alive 😃

Sorry guanophore - I was referring to the fact I didnt think any new arguments (did you catch that Cinette 😛 😛 ) against the Church would be raised, not that I didnt think you and others would not continue to explain and clarify the Church’s teaching - and you’re next post demonstrated the point amply 👍 Thank you.

The verses in Scripture that speak about the confidence of our hope are written by, for, and about Catholics. It may seem to you that they do not belong to us, but that does not change the facts.
Did you hear that noise?

That was a penny dropping 😃

I love the way a simple clean clear sentence can just suddenly burst forth with a whole universe of truth attached. Brillant. Thank you again.

This is my last posting for the year or at least till after Christmas.

**Your posts have made my day. They have been entertaining, infuriating, hilarious and enlightening. You have made me laugh so much I am sure God will count that in your favour.🙂 You know like 10 points for getting others to roll out in laughter.😃 **

I wish you all a most Blessed Christmas, truly aware of the Emmanuel.

Now we contemplate God entering human history.

Christ was born in Bethlehem, which means “House of Bread”
He was laid in a manger, a feeding trough.
His birth was already pointing to the Eucharist.

Like Mary, may we manifest Him by our lives.

May the Prince of Peace, grant you and all yours, His Peace.
I can’t do any better than to add benedictus2 to the above list and echo the sentiments entirely. Thank you all for such an illuminating discussion.

No. The Catholic church does not teach anything that contradicts Scripture. Thank you all that took part for helping me and I hope others to see that so much more clearly now.

God’s rich Blessings on you, one and all.

(erm , all meaning all that is, in this case, not just some of you 😛 😛 😛 )

You did not answer: POST #618

(If a person can never lose their Salvation, that would mean that it would be a waste of time for the Devil to try tempt them, right ?)
No. You wrongly assume that the only value of a sinning Christian to the enemy is hell. He loves to disgrace God and waste Christian’s lives by ensnaring them in sin.

And the consequence of getting someone to disgrace God and waste their lives in sin would be …??

waste Christian lives??? how can he waste a Christian life if their forever bound for heaven regardless of how much he makes them sin… besides aren’t those sins hidden from God because we’re covered with the blood of Jesus???

Okay there Martin then what value to God is it for a Christian to sin? I do not understand?

That is what you said Martin!

how do temper this belief with St.Paul’s letter to the Roman’s 6:16"do you not know that to whom you ofer yourselves as SLAVES for obedience,to Him you obey you are the SLAVES ,whether to sin unto death or to obedience unto JUSTICE"so St.Paul changed his mind(or should we say the Holy Spirit) later on in this letter.
I’m not letting you off the hook! It’s for your own good. First, the Holy Spirit guided the writing of Romans 100%. So no error, no contradictions-EVER. If you practice sin, it enslaves you. That is not the slavery/fear Paul is talking about. Read the verse again.

Sorry what I thought you meant was when Martin said we are saved no matter what we do, meant that the devil could temp all he wants and even if we sin we are cool, I must have misunderstood you. My mistake.
Ohhhh… I was just role playing you see;)

:hypno: :hypno: :hypno: I’m in a transe now… Paul never feared for his salvation… he was always sure of it… he tells us the race is over, just relax and enjoy it now… Paul never feared for his salvation… he was always sure of it… he tells us the race is over, just relax and enjoy it now… Paul never feared for …:hypno: :hypno: :hypno:

Now you happy… I know you won’t be till we all say this is how we see it… so I thought I’d go first:thumbsup:

I am not sure what this discussion is about so I will bow out. But martin if you are saying what the verse means, I believe that what paul says is by his death he did release us from sin. But the devil can always tempt us and we can fall back into sin. What Paul is saying there is no way you can sin and let grace prosper.

The way I see it Paul is saying yes Jesus took away death by dying on the Cross. He did pay for our sins and salvation. But don’t think that just because Jesus payed for our sins we are off the hook. We will answer for ever sin we make. Jesus set us free yes, but we can sin and if we don’t confess our sins, and quit sinning we are in trouble. We will answer for ever sin.
