Code:
See CCC402 - All men are implicated in Adam's sin - this means God holds us responsible for Adam and Eve's sin.
No, this is contrary to the teaching of the Church. We are under the consequence of Adam’s sin, but we are not guilty for their sins, nor are we held responsible for them.
The fact we are not in the Garden of Eden is proof that God continues to punish us for their sin.
No, we are born into a state of separation from the Garden of Eden because we have inherited the CONSEQUENCE of their sin. We are not being punished for their sins.
The Catechism admits that our struggle against sin is a hard battle.
Yes, we have a fallen nature (concupiscence) that is like a gravitational pull into sin. Baptism, however, sets us free from sin, and the punishment of sin. When we walk in the Spirit, we will not fulfill the desires of the flesh.
Code:
But all we have to do to go to hell is nothing. So our default setting is hell. But to go to heaven we have to work our tails off with huge amounts of suffering. Getting God's grace is not that difficult - the sacraments restore it. But KEEPING IT is a HUGE struggle.
No doubt of that. Thanks be to God that He will not let us be snatched from His hand!
Code:
And all of this pain, suffering and struggle because two people sinned eons ago.
Most of our pain and struggle we bring upon ourselves, because we fall prey to the world, the flesh, and the devil. God has already given us victory over these things, but we fail to exercise the power He has provided to make us victorious.
Code:
If I ever see Adam and Eve I want to slap them upside the head for what they did. They had NO RIGHT TO HURT ME!!!!!!!
And then what about all the people who want to slap you, because of the poor witness you are being to God’s gracious gifts toward you?
Heb 6:4-8
For it is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6 if they then commit apostasy,** since they crucify the Son of God on their own account and hold him up to contempt**. 7 For land which has drunk the rain that often falls upon it, and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. 8 But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed; its end is to be burned.
Not only that, it is unjust for God to punish us for their sin.
This is a dangerously arrogant position…
Isa 45:9
"Woe to him who strives with his Maker,
an earthen vessel with the potter!
Does the clay say to him who fashions it, ‘What are you making’?
or ‘Your work has no handles’?
Rom 9:15-16
“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” 16 So it depends not upon man’s will or exertion, but upon God’s mercy
If I were in the Garden of Eden I would NEVER have touched that tree. And I would have beaten that snake into a pulp with a tree branch if he dared to approach me.
If you really believe this, then start right now! When the tempter comes to you with lies, fight back ! Don’t accept the lies. Beat that devil to a pulp with the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God! For he has surely approached you, and is surely whispering lies into your ears right here, right now.
It is FAR EASIER to keep one commandment in the Garden of Eden than hundreds outside of the garden of Eden.
God has given you the grace to overcome sin. You are no longer enslaved to it, unless you choose to become enslaved again.
Rom 8:31-39
31 What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, will he not also give us all things with him? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies; 34 who is to condemn? Is it Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us? 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written,
“For thy sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No,
in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
