I mean recruiting our then underage son, calling him without our permission and paid for him to run away when we refused to support them.

You might try contacting the El Paso County (Colorado) sheriff with regard to the latter.

I have heard of them, they are a breakaway traditionalist group. Not clear whether they’re sedevacantist or not. Which bishop gives them their orders and other support (confirmation, etc.) is also not clear.

There is also this from the Diocese of Colorado Springs:

They claimed to be a seminary and have our son believing that They will ordain him. When we contacted Diocese they tried as well to stop them from recruiting and sent an official letter from their lawyer which they ignored. When we confronted them they became very unfriendly and as I said they bought our son a phone when we blocked them and then he was told to go to airport at night with a ticket waiting for him.

No they limit his contact and monitor all communication. We hear from him but he is not allowed to come home for visits. They bad mouthed us and told him we werent his family anymore. Scary stuff. We have felt helpless and have heard other people in this tiny group have been told to reject their families when they don’t follow their form of traditionalist beliefs.

I am so sorry, that is terrible. How old is your son? He may come to his own conclusion that something is not right with that group.
Have you looked into getting a lawyer involved?

We are praying for him to leave there, consulting our priests, and did have a cease and desist Order to try to block them from talking to our son but they ignored that too. Their focus has been convincing him he is a terrible sinner. Very much Pharisee and about themselves

Indirectly, it seems as though they encourage violation of the Fourth Commandment by doing this. Even though your son is no longer a minor, you are still his parents.

How can they ignore a cease and desist? That sounds serious. Please, start a prayer thread for your son, I know that people will pray for him faithfully. How long has he been there?

I can’t believe you say that as they Did exactly that immediately…encouraged disobedience and disrespect and getting him to stop communicating with us at all. They have a belief system that essentially demands you follow “them” under the guise of being devoted Traditionalists

10 months is a while, but maybe not long enough to do irreversible damage? I hope that you will keep your lawyer looking into anything that is possible to get him out or force them to let you see him.

In the mean time, know that I and others will be praying for your son.
