If you can go back and put a link to this thread in your post, it would help people understand what’s going on, in case they don’t see this.

Just hit the edit (the pencil at bottom of the post in your OP) and put in the link to the thread.

Heart breaking. There are private groups who help rescue loved ones from cults, you may want to google around and find some of them

Thank you for asking. Very difficult at times. I have spoken with an FSSP priest who has a parish near this group. He receives people who leave this congregation. He stated they are very damaged spiritually. Marriages are broken because one chooses this group and one wants to leave. He said we as parents/family are considered evil and this is preached from the pulpit. They have no Valid Jurisdiction to give sacraments. They believe they are the only true faith. Prayers, trying to keep talking to my son are all we have right now.

Not sure if others have advised you to, but I would strongly advise contacting your bishop (or the bishop of the diocese the group is in) and speaking to him personally. This needs to be addressed formally, and they are still under the jurisdiction of their Bishop.

We have done that. They cannot do anything but warn people that they are not valid.

I don’t understand where they celebrate their so called masses. Where is the actual building and who does it belong to?

They are on a piece of land with a tiny chapel and living quarters. My understanding is they have about 120 regulars and if you want to attend Mass they ask who you are and what you are doing there. They require complete allegiance or you cannot attend. They deny all of this and website appears to be a Traditionalist church. All I’m saying is we have dealt personally with them , very unpleasant and our son is under their influence. They undermined us as parents and maligned us to our son. You may say “he was technically an adult” but as we all know he was not. What boy turning 18 is able to comprehend and see what is underneath this kind of coercion? Parents can ask “how did this happen” under your own roof? Let me tell you it happens and these people prey on young people under the guise of “Truth” and Traditionalism

You won’t get any argument from me about him “technically” being an adult. 18 years old may legally make someone an adult, but intellectually, their minds are malleable and easily influenced. What they are doing is so wrong. I believe it to be sinful, as they are actually being deceptive about their “order” and lying about parents.I was asking about the building they use because I was actually wondering if the diocese owned the church/chapel they use. If so, I would think they could put an end to it.

Your son and your family will remain in my prayers!

@Dorothy, there is a thread for prayers in the prayer intentions section if you would like to join us! 🙂

For my son who is lost to a schismatic group that he can be recovered Prayer Intentions
Please pray for my son who left home blindly coerced by a deceptive schismatic group. Pray for his awakening and subsequent release and return to the True Church

They own it and they are not listed in diocese and Official Catholic directory does not show these “priests” names because they aren’t valid if they ever were. The Bishop will not help because they aren’t “Catholic”

How did your son ever hook up with them? Are they listed on a collective vocations website Or something with legitimate orders? I am asking so that anyone reading this with sons can be warned.

Apparently youtube. You have to login and they call it “classes” then after 4 months (we knew nothing) they convinced him they were the only way he would be able to atone for his sins and get to heaven… when we blocked his phone from communicating they sent him a phone. They defied us as did our son who we did not recognize. They slandered our diocese.

That’s just flat out hideous. I am so sorry to learn this.

I had brief correspondence with the father of one of their “priests” a number of years ago. They were relatives of the a late Bishop of my diocese. I was saddened to later learn that they were affiliated with this group.

WOW JtSteck that is crazy! Yeah I’d get w/ the cops and the local church in CO and in your local area.
