People of so-called Christian faith have been tossing away their faith for decades…and the world is a huge mess as a result.
Mosques are feeding the human need for purity, piety, and devotion. It is like the '30s, when the communists were setting up soup kitchens. These weren’t the communists who would later take over Europe. These were well-meaning people who despaired that the organizations of Christianity were ever going to get justice for the poor. All their hard work was getting people fed, but it was also playing right into the hand of those who would spread the evils of communism. Look in the history books… in my opinion, Islam was born because of despair over Christianity and Judaism.Don’t laugh at the idea.
I saw a program on television a couple of nights ago about the decline in Christianity in Britain. Although 70% would say they are Christian (say on a census form) very few actually go to church. Figure for Church of England is about 1 million.
It pointed out that fastest growing religion is Islam with 2 million members. The East London mosque has 10,000 members and I expect most of them are practicing muslims. And while churches are closing, mosques are opening.
The EU is also planning cultural and religious suicide by taking Turkey into the EU in say 10-15 years time. Turkey will then be the biggest country in the EU.
And no, the people in Europe won’t get a vote in case they vote the “wrong” way.
So perhaps we will have an Islamic Europe by takeover, not by Al-Quaida violence though.
Actually its a lot more than feeding feeding the human need for purity, piety, and devotion. This particular mosque had a primary school, Immam school, drug unit, youth club and so on. Something more like parishes used to have in earlier times. So the mosque is the social/cultural centre of the local muslim community. We seem to have lost that in the race for money and consumerism.Mosques are feeding the human need for purity, piety, and devotion. If we live our faith, God will take care of the assaults from outside.
If we don’t live our faith, what is it that we would be defending from Islam… or anything else? In that case, wouldn’t our soldiers be dying so that our capitalists could be signing our paychecks instead of someone else doing it?
Do not get me wrong. I am not saying that capitalism is evil. I am saying that it is evil if it makes the Gospel its servant, and not the other way around. Even if America takes over the world, if living the faith and preaching the Gospel is not the first interest of American Christians, it will be America’s consumerism and worship of the self that will be spread, not Christian faith or devotion to that which is holy. We should remember the excesses and the fall of ancient Israel, and take heed.
In the meantime, let’s welcome Muslims whose faith truly strives for a life in devotion to God, and not some fanatical religious nationalism. “Those who seek, shall find.” Let them not find a stumbling block in us.
Thank you… I mean to say: Let’s make sure that if these new Muslims chose not become Christians, it was because, in their quest for holiness, Jesus had not yet been revealed to them, and not because our “faith” is obscuring Jesus or because what they are really seeking is some sort of racial or national supremacy in place of seeking God. Heaven preserve us all from that. May all truly seek, and may all, in God’s time, truly find.Actually its a lot more than feeding feeding the human need for purity, piety, and devotion. And yes, I agree with your point about the need to live our faith.
