Alabama governor commutes death sentence

I think it more disturbing that the man was actually convicted and was on his way to be killed when the governor stepped in.
The courts sentenced a man to death for just being an accomplice and not actually being the murderer.

I was pleased when I read what our governor had done. There are cases that deserve the death penalty, but this was not one of them. Sometimes the "felony murder" statute can be carried too far.

I don't care what you believe, I simply am put on earth to defend the faith from the liars who misrepresent Christ. Go be secular but don't claim to be the elect church representing Christ on earth.

Secular laws of men may have such punishments like the Noahide Laws. Concerning Christ's church, He decides who among it may have to die under such laws like Him and the apostles- " you would have no power over me if not given from above"-Jesus. No church member however, can do it, or demand it! Even St. Peter knew, God is the executioner with what happened with Anania and his wife.

Christ told Peter concerning the soldier of the Pharisees whom he struck," put back your sword Peter! He who lives by the sword shall die by the sword" and healed the soldier. My question is, who is anyone to exact such punishments? Imprisonment will suffice.
Acting like God and killing people, that is another thing. Only God who is pure can and should be the only one exacting that punishment.

I don't care what your church teaches, Jesus doesn't teach killing people. As a matter of fact, it is taught that "our weapons are not carnal". As a matter of fact, Christ elaborates- " My kingdom is not of this world". To deem yourself executioner judge, qualifies you as living by the sword according to Christ's teachings. But I digress, pro-life for most doesn't mean from conception to natural death for most. Hence, "There are cases that deserve the death penalty"...........I can think of no better executor of vengeance than God Himself who has the power to kill not just the body but soul and cast them into the fires of hell!
