The Church does take a stand on all bad behavior - regardless of the road or method that got one there. The Church does not condone disrespect for fellow man and does not condone drunkeness at all.

The Church also recognizes that each person has free will and the responsibility to act respectful to self and others at all times. That is a moral stance that is reasonable and based on scripture.

If we start choosing each vice individually - where would one stop? Always act responsibly, morally, and respectfully toward yourself and others - that sums it up.

“I take it you’re an American, so I’m going to assume you love firearms, or at least support you’re right to own one. Should all firearms be banned because they increase homicide, assault and suicide rates?”

Personally, I am not in favor of banning alcohol. That has already been tried. Having said that, I see plenty of downside in the use of alcohol with little redeeming social value.

Firearms save lives. According to the FBI, firearms are used over one million times a year to PREVENT crimes. Can anyone say the same for alcohol?

Firearms are a threat to would-be tyrants. Alcohol, on the other hand, makes people easier to control.
