aliens vs gods

I realize this topic is highly controversial and many people have different opinions on it, but overall, I go back to the bibles statement about there being ‘signs and wonders’ in the sky, I think this explains a lot of it.

I do accept the fact the military and Govt probably do have secret aircraft flying around and I do agree these explain some of the sightings, but I also believe something else is going on too, something not everyone can easily recognize or believe…remember satans greatest trick was to convince so many people does not even exist.(or there is a more rational explanation)…could the same be the reason for this kind of thing…IDK.

I mean, wouldnt it be safe to assume our secular world today would be trying to trick us into believing one explanation versus another, especially when it comes to something we dont understand? Or better yet, would our secular leaders and Govts admit something is happening in our skies they dont understand or cannot deal with…or is much easier and safer for them to say its probably top secret aircraft…??

Where did the aliens come from? Who created them? You still need God, the unmoved mover.

I prefer to believe what God has revealed to us about our origins than what some con artist tv show about aliens has to say about it.
Whatever they truly are…the same God we worship, created them too and Im sure he has a purpose for it. There is nothing in the bible that says this planet is the ONLY place intelligent life was ever created, or that humans were the ONLY intelligent species God ever created. God has NO limits or boundaries, he can do and create anything.

God also made it clear there was much we did not know and understand as humans…thinking that we have it all figured out and there is no mystery left is really putting God in a bottle imo.

I believe God was ‘creating’ LOOOONG before our world was a thought to him, look at the wide variety of life that has existed on this planet alone for proof of that…if there were not bones left behind, would you actually believe at one time, HUGE dinosaurs roamed the earth?

The Old Catholic Encyclopedia says that Bruno was not burned at the stake by the Inquisition for saying there was an infinite universe with infinite intelligent life out there. t was frowned on though because it contradict Aquinas and Aristotle. Aquinas has a Summa article saying the universe is finite and there is only one world (earth) and uses the Bible to “prove” it.

Be that as it may, the Pope saying we should baptize aliens is very weird. Is he just saying it would be a blessing? But why use a sacramental blessing? isn’t that disrespectful of the sacrament. "I bless you for you are a creature of God’; there, a perfect formula. The Pope has also said in an interview that couples with stds can use condoms, also something I disagree with

We would logically baptize them. I would guess there are 3-4 alien sentient life forms we find before revelation:

5:14 And the four living creatures were saying, “Amen.”

It is not sensible for God to get into details about aliens in the Bible. And it is logically a good test of faith. 🙂

I also think we might see some interesting theological aspects. I am reminded of the Star Trek episode when the crew is on a planet when Jesus is coming… interesting they are generally lacking in religion but were in awe of the idea of Jesus from history. Perhaps these people will put us to shame in being Godly, or they may be like starfleet, Godless but can tell how they had a Jesus too. Both would be rather affirming etc… though if they never had a flood and such wicked ways, they could be like pre moses followers of God.

And I don’t think the Pope said what you think he said about condoms 😛

since they are not part of our salvation history, it is contrary to the nature of the sacrament to baptize them.

Unless they are still bound. A Jewish community isolated from the world would still be “in the right” until they met us theologically speaking. So if they were living preflood style God rules and then met us they could learn of Jesus etc…

If we don’t know whether God gave the form and matter of baptism for aliens, it is presumptuous to baptize them. Respect for the sacrament is hurt then

Their lacking in hierarchy of Angelic let alone God power does not speak to their non-existence. If a Kryptonian were real on Earth surely he would be most powerful to us, but still would be but an ant to an Angel… even less to God. So while an army of Clark Kents can not be more powerful than God, your idea does not negate their ability to exist…

Isn’t that the point of Jesus leaving us his Church? To…you know… make these calls…

The Church makes calls on revelation, which does not say Jesus died also for aliens. Baptism is the application of those merits

Go and make disciples of “all nations”

So if we meet the nation of Vulcans, should we decide that nation does not count?

That’s is bad theology. Baptism is from the cross, and there is nothing in Revelation about the cross being for other intelligence. So the Church can’t use baptism for other species, not for your dog, not for your alien, and not for your big mac

As for condoms, he did not dance around the issue but instead called up Paul VI’s decision to allow nuns the use of contraception in case of rape. That is a moral decision from a previous pope. In using that example, Pope Francis tacitly approved condom use in case of disease

Dog/big mac not soul filled sentience

Alien Mr. Spock yes soul filled

Jesus for ALL NATIONS.

I will give you the half a nod on this condom thing. Either way neither pope was speaking infallibiy.

The deposit of faith would have to say that the cross was for aliens AND that baptism is appropriate for them

The whole point of the Holy Spirit guided magesterium O.o

I think you are harboring much too much racism against the Vulcans 😛

I doubt a Church Father will be found someday who witnesses to Tradition about baptizing aliens
