GO IN GREAT PEACE

Meditation:

My daughter, tell souls that I am giving them My mercy as a defense. I Myself am fighting for them and am bearing the just anger of My Father (Diary, 1516).

April 20, [1938]. Departure for Pradnik. I was very worried that I would be put in bed in a ward and be exposed to all sorts of things. If it were to be for only a week or two. . . but it is for such a long time, two months or perhaps more. In the evening, I went in for a long talk with the Lord Jesus. When I saw the Lord Jesus, I poured out my whole heart before Him, all my troubles, fears, and apprehensions. Jesus lovingly listened to me and then said,** Be at peace, My child, I am with you. Go in great peace. All is ready; I have ordered, in My own special way, a private room to be prepared for you**. Reassured and overwhelmed with gratitude, I went to bed (Diary, 1674).

My Prayer Response:

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for teaching us to trust in Your mercy. Your mercy is our defense in battle and our peace in anxiety.

I am mercy itself for the contrite soul. A soul’s greatest wretchedness does not enkindle Me with wrath; but rather, My Heart is moved towards it with great mercy.

SOLEMNLY BLESS THIS IMAGE

Meditation:

When I told this to my confessor, I received this for a reply: “That refers to your soul.” He told me, “Certainly, paint God’s image in your soul.” When I came out of the confessional, I again heard words such as these: My image already is in your soul. I desire that there be a Feast of Mercy. I want this image, which you will paint with a brush, to be solemnly blessed on the first Sunday after Easter; that Sunday is to be the Feast of Mercy (Diary, 49).

My Prayer Response:

Thank You, Jesus, that Your image as The Divine Mercy, radiating Your mercy and blessing us, has been painted and is available for our veneration. Thank You that the Feast of Mercy is now available to the whole Church as a special moment of grace. With deep trust in You, may I venerate Your image on the Feast of Mercy.

MAY EVERY SOUL KNOW

Meditation:

I am very surprised that You bid me to talk about this Feast of Mercy, for they tell me that there is already such a feast and so why should I talk about it? And Jesus said to me, And who knows anything about this feast? No one! Even those who should be proclaiming My mercy and teaching people about it often do not know about it themselves. That is why I want the image to be solemnly blessed on the first Sunday after Easter, and I want it to be venerated publicly so that every soul may know about it (Diary, 341).

My Prayer Response:

Lord Jesus, may the Feast of Mercy be explained and understood and celebrated, so every soul may know about it. May The Feast of Mercy be a great evangelistic tool in reaching the whole world with Your mercy!

APPROACH THE FOUNT OF LIFE

Meditation:

**I desire that the first Sunday after Easter be the Feast of Mercy **(Diary, 299).

**Ask of my faithful servant [Father Sopocko] that, on this day, he tell the whole world of My great mercy; that whoever approaches the Fount of Life on this day will be granted complete remission of sins and punishment. Mankind will not have peace until it turns with trust to My mercy **(Diary, 300).

My Prayer Response:

“Mankind so needs to understand and accept Divine Mercy” (John Paul II, posthumous Divine Mercy Sunday message, April 3, 2005). Lord Jesus, help us to believe in the promise You made about Mercy Sunday and turn to Your mercy with trust.

Diary of St. Faustina - 1448

Tell souls where they are to look for solace; that is, in the Tribunal of Mercy [the Sacrament of Reconciliation] There the greatest miracles take place and are incessantly repeated. To avail oneself of this miracle, it suffices to come with faith to the feet of My representative and to reveal to him one’s misery, and the miracle of Divine Mercy will be fully demonstrated. Were a soul like a decaying corpse the miracle of Divine Mercy restores that soul in full.

THE VERY DEPTHS OF TENDERNESS

Meditation:

Everything that exists has come forth from the very depths of My most tender mercy. Every soul in its relation to Me will contemplate My love and mercy throughout eternity. The Feast of Mercy emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is My desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy (Diary, 699).

My Prayer Response:

Thank You, Jesus, for the Feast of Mercy that comes from the very depths of Your tenderness. May mankind find peace by turning to this fount of Your mercy.

Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity.

THE FIRST FEAST OF MERCY

Meditation:

Low Sunday; that is, the Feast of The Divine Mercy, the conclusion of the Jubilee of Redemption. When we went to take part in the celebrations, my heart leapt with joy that the two solemnities were so closely united. I asked God for mercy on the souls of sinners. Toward the end of the service, when the priest took the Blessed Sacrament to bless the people, I saw the Lord Jesus as He is represented in the image. The Lord gave His blessing, and the rays extended over the whole world. . . . I heard a voice, This Feast emerged from the very depths of My mercy, and it is confirmed in the vast depths of My tender mercies. Every soul believing and trusting in My mercy will obtain it (Diary, 420).

My Prayer Response:

Thank you, St. Faustina, for your description of the first celebration of the Feast of Mercy, at the Shrine of Our Lady, Mother of Mercy in Vilnius (Shrine of Ostra Brama [The Dawn Gate]). What a marvel of God’s timing that it was also the world’s celebration of the 1,933rd anniversary of our redemption!

A SHELTER FOR ALL SOULS

Meditation:

On one occasion, I heard these words: My daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the Fount of My Mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment (Diary, 699).

My Prayer Response:

Lord Jesus, Thank You for the Feast of Mercy as a shelter for all souls, especially for poor sinners. May I prepare with confident faith to receive the graces You promise for us on that day. I want to plunge into the ocean of Your graces.

Diary of St. Faustina - 1602

When you go to confession, to this fountain of My mercy, the Blood and Water which came forth from My Heart always flows down upon your soul and ennobles it. Every time you go to confession, immerse yourself entirely in My mercy, with great trust, so that I may pour the bounty of My grace upon your soul.

THROUGH LOVE AND MERCY

Meditation:

September 25, [1937.] When I learned how great are the difficulties in this whole work, I went to the Lord and said, “Jesus, don’t You see how they are hindering Your work?” And I heard a voice in my soul: Do as much as is in your power, and don’t worry about the rest. These difficulties prove that this work is Mine. Be at peace so long as you do all that is in your power (Diary, 1295).

The Lord said to me, It should be of no concern to you how anyone else acts; you are to be My living reflection, through love and mercy. I answered, “Lord, but they often take advantage of my goodness.” **That makes no difference, My daughter. That is no concern of yours. As for you, be always merciful toward other people, and especially toward sinners **(Diary, 1446).

Lord Jesus, in difficulties in my work and relationships, may I rejoice and do what is in my power with peace. May I always be merciful.

Diary of St. Faustina - 1507

Let no one doubt concerning the goodness of God; even if a person’s sins were as dark as night, God’s mercy is stronger than our misery. One thing alone is necessary: that the sinner set ajar the door of his heart, be it ever so little, to let in a ray of God’s merciful grace, and then God will do the rest.

COMPLETE PARDON

Meditation:

I want to grant a complete pardon to the souls that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion on the Feast of My mercy. Then He said to me, My daughter, fear nothing. I am always with you, even if it seems to you that I am not. Your humility draws Me down from My lofty throne, and I unite Myself closely with you (Diary, 1109).

My Prayer Response:

Lord Jesus, draw all souls, especially poor sinners, to turn to Your mercy on the Feast of Mercy and receive complete pardon! Help us to fear nothing and place our trust in You.

WHAT AM I AFRAID OF?

Meditation:

What are you afraid of? If you are with Me, who will dare touch you? Nevertheless, I am very pleased that you confide your fears to Me, My daughter. Speak to Me about everything in a completely simple and human way; by this you will give Me great joy. I understand you because I am God-Man. This simple language of your heart is more pleasing to Me than the hymns composed in My honor. Know, My daughter, that the simpler your speech is, the more you attract Me to yourself. And now, be at peace close to My Heart. Lay your pen aside and get ready to leave (Diary, 797).

CONSOLATION FOR SOULS This is the Chaplet of Divine Mercy as taught by Jesus to St. Faustina.]

Meditation:

When I had said the prayer, in my soul I heard these words: This prayer will serve to appease My wrath. You will recite it for nine days, on the beads of the rosary, in the following manner: First of all, you will say one OUR FATHER and HAIL MARY and the I BELIEVE IN GOD. Then on the OUR FATHER beads you will say the following words: “Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.” On the HAIL MARY beads you will say the following words: “For the sake of His sorrowful Passion have mercy on us and on the whole world.” In conclusion, three times you will recite these words: “Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world” (Diary, 476).

Thank You, Jesus, for the powerful prayer weapon You have given us. Help us to use it regularly for mercy not only for ourselves but for the whole world! Thank You for the global consciousness You give us of the world’s need of Your mercy.

SAY UNCEASINGLY THE CHAPLET

Meditation:

Once, as I was going down the hall to the kitchen, I heard these words in my soul:** Say unceasingly the chaplet that I have taught you. Whoever will recite it will receive great mercy at the hour of death. Priests will recommend it to sinners as their last hope of salvation. Even if there were a sinner most hardened, if he were to recite this chaplet only once, he would receive grace from My infinite mercy. I desire that the whole world know My infinite mercy. I desire to grant unimaginable graces to those souls who trust in My mercy** (Diary, 687).

My Prayer Response:

Lord Jesus, make me more aware of the power of the mercy chaplet as a prayer for Your infinite mercy for sinners, for the dying, and for the whole world. May You inspire me to pray it unceasingly.

AT THE HOUR OF DEATH

Meditation:

When I entered my solitude, I heard these words:** At the hour of their death, I defend as My own glory every soul that will say this chaplet; or when others say it for a dying person, the pardon is the same. When this chaplet is said by the bedside of a dying person, God’s anger is placated, unfathomable mercy envelops the soul, and the very depths of My tender mercy are moved for the sake of the sorrowful Passion of My Son** (Diary, 811).

My Prayer Response:

Lord Jesus, thank You for the promises You and Your Father made about praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for the dying. Help us to make use of it for dying family members and friends.

BRINGING HUMANKIND CLOSER TO ME

Meditation:

While I was saying the chaplet, I heard a voice which said,** Oh, what great graces I will grant to souls who say this chaplet; the very depths of My tender mercy are stirred for the sake of those who say the chaplet **(Diary, 848).

Jesus listened to these outpourings of my heart with gravity and interest, as if He had known nothing about them, and this seemed to make it easier for me to talk. And the Lord said to me, **My daughter, those words of your heart are pleasing to Me, and by saying the chaplet you are bringing humankind closer to Me. **After these words, I found myself alone, but the presence of God is always in my soul (Diary, 929).

My Prayer Response:

Lord Jesus, increase my trust in You and in Your promises of great graces for saying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. May my prayer be pleasing to You and bring souls closer to You.

ENCOURAGE SOULS TO SAY THE CHAPLET

Meditation:
**
My daughter, encourage souls to say the chaplet which I have given to you. It pleases Me to grant everything they ask of Me by saying the chaplet. When hardened sinners say it, I will fill their souls with peace, and the hour of their death will be a happy one.

Write that when they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as the just Judge but as the merciful Savior** (Diary, 1541).

My Prayer Response:

Lord Jesus, help me not only to please You by praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy but also help me to encourage others to pray it. May many more souls avail themselves of this powerful intercessory prayer, especially in praying for the dying.
