SCANDAL within the Church is the business of all Catholics. It harms the entire body of Christ. And until such Scandal is corrected it is the business of all Catholics.

By the way all Bishops do NOT follow the voting records of all Catholic politicians in their Diocese, and a letter with documentation advises them so they can check it out.
Why would any Catholic try to discourage anyone from sending a documented (public voting record) letter to any Bishop? - unless they had an ulterior motive.
If the point is that only Bishops can excommunicate someone from their own Diocese - that is correct.

As a retired Legislative Aide I can tell you that, Executive Orders mean nothing except from the President (Boss) to his Administration (Staff of US Government) only.
They can be changed at any time by the President without the consent of anyone, and since Obama is pro-abortion, he only signed it to ensure passage of his bill and for a photo-op cover for those Catholic Representatives who voted for Obamacare as written. His administration has been pushing abortion at the UN, and in Mexico tying our foreign aide subject to abortion (politically correct - women’s reproductive issues.)

Next Obamacare was passed by Congress and signed into law in late 2010. The Hyde Amendment is no longer in effect. Obamacare’s first stages have already gone into effect.
Most of the States in the lawsuit regarding its Constitutionality, are not accepting any Obamacare funds at this time.
If they want to send voting records to Bishops that is fine. It is not their place to tell the Bishops what to do with the information though. Our Bishops are not elected officials whom we petition for things, they are the leaders and the laity are the followers, by telling the Bishops what to do ALL is advocating the extremely harmful idea that the Bishops are simply not wise enough to process and deal with information on their own.

American Life League is a Catholic Pro Life organization that is merely trying to protect the most precious Sacrament that Christ gave us: **HIMSELF AKA The Eucharist! **

Why is that wrong?

The same reason I, as an everyday citizen, can’t pull people over for speeding.

CCC - “2284 Scandal is an attitude or behavior which leads another to do evil.
The person who gives scandal becomes his neighbor’s tempter.
He damages virtue and integrity; he may even draw his brother into spiritual death.
Scandal is a grave offense if by deed or omission another is deliberately led into a grave offense.”

CCC - "2286 Scandal can be provoked by laws or institutions, by fashion or opinion.
Therefore, they are guilty of scandal who establish laws or social structures leading to the decline of morals and the corruption of religious practice, or to “social conditions that, intentionally or not, make Christian conduct and obedience to the Commandments difficult and practically impossible.” This is also true of business leaders who make rules encouraging fraud, teachers who provoke their children to anger, or manipulators of public opinion who turn it away from moral values.

CCC - "2287 Anyone who uses the power at his disposal in such a way that it leads others to do wrong becomes guilty of scandal and responsible for the evil that he has directly or indirectly encouraged. “Temptations to sin are sure to come; but woe to him by whom they come!”

The above also certainly pertains to all Politicans in power.

Yes, but the vote did not fund abortion. Under the Hyde Amendment, federal funding for abortion is illegal in the US.

I realize that some pro-life activists argue that if governmental funding for non-abortion services is cut off, that may indirectly crimp the availability of abortion. But its a speculative argument, and it is a political issue… not a religious issue. ALL is overstepping itself in calling for excommunications over this vote.
The Hyde Amendment under Obamacare was not continued, and therefore no longer exists.

Using taxpayer dollars to kill babies is making us pay for murder of innocents for convenience.
Killing babies is a religious and political issue when our Government is involved.

CCC - “2271 Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law”.

CCC - “2322 From its conception, the child has the right to life. Direct abortion, that is, abortion willed as an end or as a means, is a “criminal” practice (GS 27 § 3), gravely contrary to the moral law. The Church imposes the canonical penalty of excommunication for this crime against human life.”

The Hyde Amendment under Obamacare was not continued, and therefore no longer exists.
This is not true. The Hyde Amendment has been passed every year since 1976, including under President Obama. There was some controversy over whether the Hyde Amendment applies to the health care reform legislation. In March 2010 Pres. Obama issued an executive order that ordered that the Hyde Amendment would apply to the health care legislation. There have been no reports that order has been violated.

Remember that it is a MORTAL sin for Catholic Politicians to support abortion by their public votes or in any other way.
It is a MORTAL sin to receive the Eucharist while in the state of Mortal Sin - Sacrilege.

It is a MORTAL sin to commit SCANDAL. Those who publically profess to be Catholic yet support baby killing, and set the example that abortion is OK, and make it easier to procure abortions with taxpayer dollars commit scandal. CCC 2284.

It is a MORTAL sin to receive the Eucharist while in the state of Mortal Sin - Sacrilege.
Not only American Babies are innocent human beings.

It is mortal sin to support unjust war, kill innocent people, remove the government of one country and fail to provide law and order. It is mortal sin, to spend trillions of dollars for the above reasons.

Obama Executive Order does not continue the Hyde Administration which was binding when in effect - and went out the window with Obamacare.

Any President can change or stop his own Executive Order whenever his wishes. Or change or stop the Executive Order of a former President.
Executive Orders do not have the force of law.

“Because of Roe v. Wade, courts have interpreted the decision as a statutory mandate that the government must provide federal funding for elective abortion in through federal programs. In other words, no executive order or regulation can override a statutory mandate unless Congress passes a law that prohibits federal funding from being used in this manner,” Boehner, R-Ohio, said in a statement.
