Wow fpt. There is more to marriage than sexuality. There is more to a woman than sexuality. Trying to propagate your views even on such a thread is unbelievable.

I only checked out this thread because I noticed by chance that you were the last person to post here. I only wanted to see what you have to say about singles. But what you have to say doesn’t surprise me at all. It’s just unbelievable that you say part of your bigger theories on sexuality here.

I won’t be posting further on this thread, so don’t bother about replying. Again I only came here to read your post about single women and men.
I am sorry, if you do not understand in the details and in all the subtleties, my intellectual approach about the human nature of males and females, about the marriage with its own corollaries (rights, obligations, duties, permissions and bans).

Am I mad? Am I crazy? Am I morally wrong? Am I curious? Am I liberal? Am I against the catholic teaching, n my speeches, according to your humble opinion???

May be, i am foolish lay person???

In a manner of speaking, yes! Heck, on further reflection, it comes from my experience always dealing with people who don’t always live up to the advice they give me. (Being on the receiving end of that, I can attest that it is not the best trust-building experience.)

I swear, no matter how simple-minded she may be, I thus repeat. How I would love a woman that will not give me cause to keep my guard up and endearing enough that I for once cannot bring myself to be skeptical.
To me, trust is essential for a relationship/marriage to work. There has to be trust by both, in the other person. However, we are human and perfect trust can only be in God. Sometimes, we have to take a chance or more than one, to find that person who will earn your trust.

Of course, you know that simple-mindedness, gullibility etc does not guarantee abiding love and trust… A strong willed/independent woman is as capable of being loyal, committed and trustworthy as any other woman. There are as many demanding, disrespectful, controlling men as there are women.

Neither of them.
As for yours truly, my list is somewhat jealous. 😃
Okay, just stop. Please.
Not to sound rude, but bringing up your list every five minutes, when no one really comments on it is getting a little old.

As a married woman, it didn’t seem right for me to post in this thread. But after reading the whole thing, I just want to say:

All the :slapfight: is making me :rotfl:

That doesn’t help.
I’ll explain.
Parts of my list have been shown to cause serious umbrage in many of the secularists.
Here’s the parts which have been proven to cause umbrage and thus be construed as report-worthy:
Green flags #9, #10, #11, #17, #18, #19 and #20.
Red flags #1, #4, #5, #7, #8, #9 #10 #13, #14 and #15.
My intention was to try and play it safe because I do not want to reported again by someone who got so offended by my green and red flags.
When I first came to the CAF, I posted in a thread. I can only tell the details to you in a PM because posting it here may get me reported again.
I’m sorry. I’m just a little scared.

Oh yes but strong will is still, well strong. I’m surrounded by strong-willed individuals male and female (gay and lesbian too). Their presence drives me to make sure my own will doesn’t falter to anything less than equal.

Keeping it up is also exhausting.

All I’m saying is such exhaustion does not a romantic atmosphere/appeal/mood make.

Make no mistake. If you’re a strong, Joan-of-Archetype of woman who wishes to assert herself, by all means do your best to earn my servitude and I’ll do my best to earn your trust. If this were a fantasy setting, I’ll gladly provide arcane cover fire while you lead the charge.

But to fall head over heels? Sorry, not my type. Please leave me be once I find my Yamato Nadeshiko. 😛

What if you find a Maria Clara instead? 😉

In all seriousness, I hope and pray that you and all the other hopeful men and women in this thread be blessed by God with their dream spouse.

I saw this question on CM back when I tried online dating…and I thought it would be interesting to post it here too. So…

1- What turns you on in your quest of Mr or Mrs Right?
2- What turns you off?

It’s time to be honest y’all. 🙂
1.) I don’t know.
2.) Selfishness, narcissism, and failure to fulfill societal, familial, and personal obligations.

If someone tries to conquer you, do what I do - fight.

In addition, morally speaking, a woman, a future catholic bride, in my humble opinion:
  1. should not be in favor of direct and voluntary contraception and not be in favor of direct and voluntary abortion;
  2. should not be a scrupulous person in her spiritual life (in her personal moral life, in her conjugal moral life, in her own religious life, in her conjugal religious life, in her catholic devotions, about her personal sins, about sins of her husband, about the sins of her children, about the sins of the others), in her mentalities about all topics, in her conjugal life, in her life of family, in her social life (her life of leisures, her life of travels…etc). Thus, not be moralist and rigorist with herself, with her husband, and also with her children and her family. **The scrupulosity is a dangerous road. Each one of us has to struggle against. Each one has his own level of scrupulosity, but we need to avoid this terrible intellectual, mental and moral view. That is a catholic fight. **
  3. should be in favor of conjugal natural goodness and the conjugal charity, I mean the patience, the kindness, the understanding, the generousity, the forgiveness, the conjugal love in all dimensions: the respect of the natural moral laws of the conjugality with all the subtleties that are given and explained by the teachings of Roman catholic church: faith and reason, reason and faith, not more and not less. The essential values and the fundamental principles of marriage have to be shared between the future spouses: the natural moral law of dual humanity, the natural moral law of marriage, the natural moral law of the couple, the natural moral law of the family.
Of course, it is the same thing for a man.

The main red flag to marry is opportunity for rough manners behavior. This behavior just seldon makes me very angry.

The green flag is fidelity. Many womans which I know live as animals. The sex is not an amoral action for them. I like the the good arcticle fam-mag.com/articles/101/1239 about fidelity aspects and aftermaths.

In all honesty… I don’t even see much of a difference! :whacky:

Such types tend to fit the supportive Cleric role anyways so they’re not completely the defenseless types (contrary, again, to some poster’s assumptions).
In all seriousness, I hope and pray that you and all the other hopeful men and women in this thread be blessed by God with their dream spouse.
Thanks. 😛

  1. Kindness, generousity, intelligence, blue eyes and freckles
  2. video games, tattoos, foul language, jeans at mass
Goes without saying that it would be really nice if he were Catholic and loved God.

I have a fondness for a light smattering of freckles, too.🙂

Though I don’t think of this as a requirement, but a bonus.👍

You put these two together and you get the reason why I put naive and gullible as positives. Unlike the masochist here, I’ve already drawn a line in the number of relationships where I end up constantly having to defend my position and questioning that of others. You wanna be another woman who plays that game with me, get in line but I can no longer fall in love with you because I am just not attracted to the same-old, same-old.

Just for once, I’d like a girl who doesn’t have to resort to butting heads with me one way or another just so I could give what is due to her. Hence, faith and trust winds up tying with naive and gullible. I’ve seen many people say the same about a saint’s child-like (note: not childish) belief in God. Sue me if I’m wrong for wanting a girl who will have the same child-like belief in me as a man.
Well, I see, but still. You don’t need to make it someone who has trouble with critical thinking just because you’ve had enough of excessive criticism.

Speaking of which, you aren’t really giving the impression of an all-round meek person, yourself. Might be a bit delusional to hold others to the standard. Not meaning to be mean here, but I’ve even caught you calling people names and going on the offensive. Speaking of headbutting and assertion.

This said, you gotta reign in those desires for domination if you do have them. Basically, control yourself, not control others.

Trust me, you cannot have critical thinking in the same space as romantic appeal when it comes to me. Heck, there are plenty of times when I’ve had people play ‘critical thinking’ yet they’re hardly any brighter (if not less) than the naive saint I describe. (At the very least, the saint cheers folks up whereas critical/competitive nags are just that, nags.)

Why should I be like the one I want to marry? I don’t want to marry another sober copywriter with cynical tendencies. I want to marry an SAHM-type who doesn’t require ego to browbeat ego to keep her man working. Remember, I only hold one particular individual to these standards and that is the woman who would be of great romantic interest to me. In fact, you could say such a small, quiet person compliments (as well as tame) a big, loud alpha.

But of course, why shouldn’t I? When you bait a bear, it mauls. When you bait a wyrm, it will burn you alive. I don’t get nasty unless someone with a vendetta likes to come in with their snarky side comments.
