I would likely ask say, “Wow your brain activity at this moment is fascinating!! How do you feel?” :D:D

By neurotic then you mean slightly analytical and an “odd” (not bad just different) sense of humor. I’m like that as well. I would also add to neurotic organized and sci-fi/fantasy fan 😃

Of course then there is an actual neurosis, but that is a mental disorder and at this point I will keep my mouth shut.
Wait. Where do you get organized from? Because that falls into the fantasy realm for me.

🙂 I get that from my experience. I am called neurotic because I like things to be organized properly. For example, my Transformers need to be chronological release order.

Well, of course they do. But I don’t think it’s neurotic until your break out in a cold sweat because someone moved them them or you can tell they are thinking about it.

And I feel a little uncomfortable with how accurate this is. I try not to be this transparent; it’s not very Slytherin of me. 🤓

Green Flags

A man not following any of Satan’s ways and if he does, being truly remorseful at the time and attending Reconciliation.

After a 20 year marriage and now in my forties, Jesus sustains me and your wonderful thread has just enlightened me to the fact that I do not want to share my life with another man giving 120 per cent of the time anymore.

I wish to carry out Jesus’ and Our Lady Mary’s callings.

The above should read ‘Red Flags’ - apologies

Traditional Catholic young female here…never had a relationship before, but am open to courtship and marriage if that’s God’s plan, and I find the right gentleman.

My green flags:
  1. Devout Catholic
  2. Traditional views
  3. Open to as many children as God wishes to send
  4. Calm, not prone to excessive stressing
  5. Kind and polite
  6. Intelligent, preferably very interested in science, especially biology. (I am majorly interested in biology and veterinary medicine and really have to spend my life with somebody who shares those interests- I am a nerd.)
  7. A large animal vet? 😛
  8. Deep fondness for rural life and livestock
  9. Kind-heartedness to animals, especially lambing ewes and their babies
  10. No vices (impurity, substance abuse, etc.)
  11. Active, enjoy working outdoors, not squeamish
  12. Serious, but always smiling
  13. Somebody I can trust
  14. Willing to help with the dishes
  15. Enjoys intellectual conversation
  16. Willing to let sick lambs stay in the house, willing to give up sleep to keep watch over lambing ewes
My red flags:
  1. Not Catholic/religious
  2. Rude, playing hard to get
  3. Prone to vice (I don’t expect perfection- but I do expect him to strive for it)
  4. Insensitivity to suffering
  5. Obsession with sports- preferably, minimal to no interest
  6. Desire for urban lifestyle (not a sin by any means, but not something I’d ever want)
  7. Treating women (or other men too for that matter) badly

I am sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable.
No, not “creeper” uncomfortable. I made a spazzy comment, you asked a question, I decided to wave my freak flag (I blame it on the 5-hour energy) and then acted all surprised that you did what a person interested in psycology (like me) does; you made an observation and nailed it.

Want to see what’s in my bag?

ETA: I also :rotfl: about the “brain activity”. I do believe it’s the only time anyone had ever directly suggested I had any. Something I will treasure always.

What a refreshing list! It was heartwarming to read, and I will be disappointed if you do not find a guy to fit that description.

okay, i’ve gotta ask, in reference to the bolded, what??? sarcasm, i’m hoping?

What, you think I’m askin too much?
Well… all of the persons I have heard about who have levitated during prayer have been saints. Heck, St. Teresa of Avila required that her sisters pin her to the ground when she was in deep prayer.

Of course, we are all called to become saints. But if you are looking for a mate who is already a saint, and a levitating saint at that, you may be restricting the pool of prospects more than is advisable. :tsktsk:

😉

also, he said that someone who has ever sinned is a red flag. that narrows his dating pool to Mary and Jesus, which is definitely worthwhile if he wants to be a priest, but if he thinks he’s called to marriage, i really don’t see how he’s gonna fulfil these terms.

I think we need to look to Jimmy’s first item on the “green flag” list and the first two on the “red flag” list when evaluating a couple of his other items. It really puts things into perspective…he himself is exhibiting a sense of humor with the levitating and sinless comments! 😃

What, you think I’m askin too much? I don’t want to settle for less than I should.
Expecting someone who doesn’t sin might be asking a bit much but levitating during prayer seems reasonable.

Is that why nobody’s jumping on that guy’s throat?

(No offense to you jimmy. 😛 I actually believe you are entitled to your list… unlike one or two people a few pages back.)
