I have what many of you would want. A ceramic scale model of the original USS Enterprise. It must be a ‘collectable’ by now. No, you can’t have it.

Well then. We should not want your little Enterprise in any case! You can keep your little dainty.

All of us are die hard Star Gate fans here. You can have your Captain Mike and Major Spock. We don’t need them.

Who is Captain Mike? Is he related to the very famous Audio stunt man Mike Rophone? That’s the one with the ship’s doctor Nosmo King, as I’m sure you know.

Exactly so, Miss Stephie. I see that you are right on top of things as always. Now, if you don’t mind giving me the key to the liquor cabinet for the night I should be quite happy to take good care of it for you. Dr. Crusher’s orders you know. Always looking out for your health, of course.

That’s either Captain Morgan, or Jim Beam me up in the liquor cabinet.

It is not a little ‘dainty.’ It sits up high on a shelf-a place of honor-with several cherished sacramentals.

It would be interesting to see Ina Rae Hark’s take on Discovery, and on the films. In the meantime, her Star Trek book is worth finding. Her interpretations include the misfits of DS9, the comforts of TNG, and the situation-ethics of ENT. One of her themes is “it’s easy to be a saint in paradise.” Therefore every series after TNG makes things worse for each new crew, to see if they can stand by their ideals.

I’m a Stargate fan. Aside from Star Trek: TNG, the only other sci-fi series of which I’ve seen every episode is Stargate: SG-1. (The TV movies too.) I’ve been slowly working my way through Stargate: Atlantis on Hulu.
Correction/addition to this: I also saw every episode of the rebooted Battlestar Galactica, though I missed a couple of the TV movies after the series had finished its run.

Variety reports that S.J. Clarkson will be the first woman to direct a Star Trek movie. (A few women have directed episodes of the later series.)

Tubak: I couldn’t help but notice your pain.

Kirk: You know that pain and guilt can’t be taken away with a wave of a magic wand. They’re the things we carry with us, the things that make us who we are. If we lose them, we lose ourselves. I don’t want my pain taken away! I need my pain!
