Muslims believe that Allah is the Creator, the Omnipotence and the Merciful. They worship this being with these attributes. Is not God having the same attributes?
If Allah promotes what God hates, could that be just a lie? And if Muslims believe that, then could Muslims just believe a lie?

Its not a question of whether different religions see God differently.
Its a question of putting words into the mouth of God and making not knowing God.
Jeremiah3 : 1 “If a man divorces his wife

DO YOU KNOW WHAT MUHAMAD/ALLAH TAUGHT? For your information islam teaches that the ex-wife MUST have sex with the 2nd or 3rd husband before returning to the previous husband.
NOW. If you want to say that allah is god, that’s as good as saying, that you can eat food today, and faeces tomorrow. Man may be frivolous and changing, but God never changes.
If something has been deemed detestable and disgraceful, there is no way that holy being will change and instead encourage its practice. Many people here don’t know who is God in the first place, that’s why they think that the two are the same.

That verse refers to the former. If you’re asking about something else, you should not be placing it in response to the previous thread unless of course, if you meant to use it as a divertion to the proven case at hand.

Can you imagine your loving father telling you last year not to stuff rubbish in your mouth lest you fall sick, but a year later, a pipsqueak running up to you and saying “here, I found this shoelace, it must belong to your father…your father tells me to tell you that he hates you and says you should eat up all that trash in your backyard! I represent your father, come, pass me your little sister and let me have some fun with her”
Sounds bad? But the above is a very good analogy of what islam has done and is doing.

The topic of this thread is fascinating, and I’d like to add to it. Just for the record, I’m catholic, but I also think that Vatican II teaching on “muslims and catholics adore the same God” is flat-out wrong. I sincerely hope such words are erased from catholic teaching soon.
I have consulted people with a greater understanding of theology, and how theology is done, and from their words, I agree with them and say that from a theological point of view, it is impossible to conclude objectively that muslims and Catholics worship the same God. As many people here have argued, just because muslims say so, it does not make it true. Sadly, as I said before, just because some people at Vatican II (wrongly!!) said so, it does not make it true.
Now, as to whether muslims, satan, budhits or any other cult, entity/demon believe in God, well, I think there’s some misconception here. These people/cults/entities may or may not believe in Him. To that type of argument, I’d say that just because they “acknowledge” God (i.e.; they believe there’s an all powerful God, creator of heaven and earth, etc.) does not mean they adore Him or worship Him. If anything, these demons/cults/entities may use their “acknowledgement” or “knowledge” of God for their own benefits and greed (i.e.; false prophets and religions) just as it is written and prophesised abundantly in the bible (muhhamad/islam anyone?).
And here’s what I think is the clincher: if anyone says that muslims and jews are worshiping the same God as we Catholics do, please show me muslim/jewish teachings that instruct people to worship Jesus.
Since I know that people may counter my argument with something along the lines of “muslims/jews only worship the Father, so they are indirectly worshiping Jesus”, I will then ask those people to show me documents/teachings of the catholic church (pre-Vatican II, of course!) that unequivocally show that it is valid worship to adore the Father and at the same time knowingly make a mockery and/or insult or ignore The Son (something I think muslims do, by the way).

Its really simple.

Jews believe that there is a God who created the heavens and the earth. He is not Jesus, was not Jesus and will never be Jesus .

For me its clear that Muslims and Jews have the same understanding of what is the diety that they are worshipping. It is also clear to me that this diety is not what christians worship. because this diety doesnt include Jesus in it. Never was , never will.
As for people fighting about the name Allah . Forget it. A muslim can never utter the word Allah in her life and still be a muslim. Its just an Arabic name for the God of Abraham. You can call God with any of his attributes and he knows you are referring to him.

If you inserted Allah into a Jewish Siddur (prayer book) instead of Lord or Hashem, it wouldn’t change anything.If I’m not mistaken, Rambam referred to God as Allah in some of his writings (which were in arabic).

If americans refer to Bush as God for 1,000 years, then in year 3006, Bush will literally mean God to America. That’s what happened with the arabs. They did not previously use allah to literally mean god
It is insane to say that allah literally means God when the muslims themselves tell you to your face that “There is no god but allah!” (plus Allahu Akhbar : allah is greater – whenever they behead somebody).
And the core foundation of Christianity is CHRIST. Now if anybody (muslims) tell you that Christ is NOT the Son of God, or that He is NOT a deity, then turns around and tells you that they worship the same god as you and that allah is god, wouldn’t you think there’s a real BIG problem? Hey, you just destroyed your own faith!
The person is telling you to your face that your religion is futile and useless, and you happily embrace him/her as a fellow being worshipping the SAME god? Duh~ And you believe that allah means god when they already tell you straight-faced that allah is greater than god?
I sure hope God picks the intelligent ones to enter heaven. We really can’t afford to be laughing while worshipping, it affects the somber atmosphere.

According to your book, Jews and Christians are also polytheists because they worship Rabbis and priests rather than one god!

I am sticking to it. You arent. What now , are you going to accuse all muslims of blaspheming for not sticking to the topic?
- I think i have answered that before. Just because some jews elevated a prophet of them to the level of worshipping doesnt mean that Judaism teaches so . Unlike Mainstream christianity today which teaches that that Jesus is part of God or God .
Dont interpret the verses on your own fashion and argue with your own interpretation.

You are correct. Muslims dont worship Jesus as God . When Christians worship Jesus we dont acknowledge we are worshipping the same God as them. We worship the God that Moses worshiped . A diety which had no Jesus in it.
**The true questions isnt about if Muslims worship the same God as Christians do . The true question is weather Christisns worship the same God as Jews do? **
Do a simple test . Any christian should go to a Jew and ask him if he worships Jesus as God or part of God or son of God. If he answers yes then Christianity worships the same God as jews . If he says no then Christianity doesnt worship the same God as jews .
