If I was the bishop there I would tell them to get out or I will kick them out. I would help them out, but will not decorate my church. I hope the Vatican looks into this. It is not the Allah part that gets me. It is the part about taking something for Catholics and making it for Moslems.

God speed.

That is what the word means today but etymologically some say it originated from a moon god cult:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubal#Hubal_and_Allah
Like most word, the origin of the word Allah is not well known. However, consider the Latin word “deus.” It means God, and it meant all the various gods of the old Roman pantheon. Would we question the appropriateness of the use of Deus to refer to the Christian concept of God?

So, Allah means god in Arabic, Deus means god in Latin. We know deus originally referred to pagan gods, and some suspect allah originally referred to a pagan god. Who questions the use of deus in Catholic Latin liturgy?

Thank you GreenJeans. That is the perfect analogy. Cor was trying to mislead, suggesting that the ancient understanding of the word “Allah” was the same as today.
