That’s a reasonable question. I do think it would be smarter for Church Militant or Taylor Marshall and Tim Gordon to wait until after the accusations go through the courts and such before interviewing a victim, in case their accusations are untrue.

I think to a minor degree James is being exploited but he did agree to participate in Church Militant’s interview and projects with him as well as Taylor Marshall’s podcast. I do think they could have chosen a better victim to interview, or not even interview James Grein.

My point is a Priest can be moved or have administrative measures taken against him, I believe. No need to involve outside forces, and no need to say “why” or divulge reasons.

Unless I am mistaken.

Well, it is a good question.

I’ve heard of one case where a woman in confession told a priest she was abused by another priest. During the confession the priest strongly encouraged the penitent to work with him to fix the problem. The article mentions the priest (who helped) and this woman had significant interaction outside of confession to help get justice for this woman though. It was a high profile case in Washington DC. Could something like this have been done? It is really hard to say.
When she first reported McCloskey’s actions in the early 2000s, she said, she did so in a confessional with an Opus Dei priest in Virginia. The priest told her not to tell anyone else, including any other priests, “so he could fix it,” she said. Later, an Opus Dei priest tried to help her, she said, encouraging her to seek medical and legal assistance.

Opus Dei paid $977,000 to settle sexual misconduct claim against prominent…

The Rev. C. John McCloskey was well-known in conservative circles for converting Newt Gingrich, Sam Brownback and Lawrence Kudlow, among others
Wow, that’s a huge pile of money—NINE HUNDRED-AND-SEVENTY-SEVEN-THOUSAND DOLLARS! How do they award this?? is it a giant check, or just a convenient direct deposit to the bank account? Why not just round it off to 1 million bucks— the extra $23,000 could buy an awesome set of jet skis and great vacation package. incredible.

One third to one half goes to the lawyers, then the government takes its cut, and then you are left with much less than was awarded.

And have you seen how much counseling costs?
