bible-only types are hanging eternity on the 2.7% of Jesus’ teaching that is in the bible.
Exactly the point, but they insist that everything we practice must be in the bible. This is totally hypocritical.
The subject of this thread is whether so called alter calls are biblical or not.
Those ‘bible only’ churches that demand that everything be biblical are the very ones who use the non biblical practice of alter calls themselves. They should end the hypocritical accusations, then I would have no need to respond to them.
Those who do not do this need not be offended.

And lets add praying in tongues, being slain in the spirit, having personal prophecies, bible schools, prosperity gospel, and the list goes on. I won’t even bring up anointed hankies and growing legs.
Catholics are out front with their appeal to tradition and get ridiculed and attacked for it from “bible only christians” who do many things that are based on thier own tradition.
They claim “bible alone”, but do many extrabiblical traditions of thier own.
BTW, the ‘altar call’ IS an evangelical sacrament. It meets the definition.
Praying in tongues

“For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. - 1 Corinthians 14:14-15”

"Anointed hankees"

“And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them. - Acts 19: 11-12”

As you can clearly see, these two practices are based upon passages of Scripture. Wither or not you agree with them is your choice of course, however, claiming that they are just traditions with no connection whatsoever to the Bible is an incorrect statement on your part my brother.
