Altar Rail Returning to Use

In our Church the altar rail is still there (since 1926) and we receive the communion kneeling at that rail.
 
I really do hope we can receive Holy Communion on our knees again…but the other problem is the perception of clericalism.

There are aspects of Vatican II that do seem too conciliar…and then there is that saying,
‘Do not receive God commonly’.
 
Sadly, my parish’s altar rails were removed following a reconfiguration of the sanctuary following Vatican II. Nevertheless, they still do exist, albeit they are in storage. Moreover, with regard to some of the comments found on that article, it seems some Catholics have forgotten that there is no separation between following the disciplines of the Church and faithfully serving Christ. For example, a comment regarding altar rails overshadowing a Catholic being a disciple of Christ.
 
That’s great news - but here in the Archdiocese of Vancouver, Canada the altar rail never went completely away. It is true that the vast majority of local parishes do not use nor have a rail, but the cathedral’s was never removed, and the faithful ALWAYS have the option to receive at the altar rail kneeling. The cathedral offers 4 masses daily Monday through Saturday and 7 on Sunday, and I have never been to a mass where the altar rail option wasn’t widely used - a large portion of the faithful WANT to receive Our Lord in this fashion. Other priests come out, for both daily and Sunday masses, to assist the presider in distributing Holy Communion, with greatly reduces the number of EMHC necessary (at a daily mass they are not required at all). A few other parishes the archdiocese also use the altar rail - a couple exclusively, at the direction of the pastor, but it is not yet the norm.
