1 John 5:7
“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”
It couldn’t be more clear.

Thanks man didn’t know this. The New American Bible, a Catholic translation, and the translation used in Catholic parishes on Sundays, does not include that verse. So, the Bible that the person in question is using may or may not include this verse, and they may or may not know the history of it.
Exactly! If the HS is ‘just’ the spirit of the Father and the Son,then why would Jesus even bother to say: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"Yes, the I John 5:7 verse about the ‘three’ has been discredited because it doesn’t appear in the early manuscripts and that’s why it’s left out ofthe latest editions of the Bible.
However, the Matt. 28:19 verse, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” would be the quote I’d use for those doubting the Holy Trinity. The doubters argue that the Holy Spirit is just the spirit of the Father or the Son… so I would ask, why then mention the Holy Spirit if the Father and the Son had already been listed. Plus, aren’t they all ‘spirit’ anyway.
They may doubt it, but Christ seems to make a distinction in John 14:26Yes, the I John 5:7 verse about the ‘three’ has been discredited because it doesn’t appear in the early manuscripts and that’s why it’s left out ofthe latest editions of the Bible.

Very true Jon.They may doubt it, but Christ seems to make a distinction in John 14:26
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
He says the Holy Spirit will be sent by God in His (Christ’s) name.
Jon
From the sentence you can deduct that the Holy Spirit is a person. Down the line, the Holy Spirit is refered to as “he” and not as “it.”They may doubt it, but Christ seems to make a distinction in John 14:26

John 5:18 we are told that Jesus’ opponents sought to kill him because he “called God his Father, making himself equal with God.”these are great verses. i appreciate everyone sending them to me. these will give me some great ammo.
not sure the denomination of the other person.
do you have any good verses to support these beliefs:
Jesus is “fully God”
Jesus is “fully man”
thank you
