I posted in the L&S section about the homily I heard Christmas Eve and how my jaw dropped as I listened to Fr. encourage us to hope for women priests because, “they know so much more than me” (him) and are much better in some situations than males. Of course we all know we won’t see this happen during the reign of Benedict XVI."
I’ve about had it.
I converted to Catholicism 12 years ago for a reason. I love the Doctrines and Dogmas of HMC, the reverence, the beauty, the “things of God.”
I’m tired of the yakkity yak before and after Mass right in the pews so that to sit and quietly pray is next to impossible.
I’m tired of hearing cell phones go off all during Mass and people talking during the Consecration.
I’m tired of all the “small” innovations to the traditional prayers I hear every single Mass.
I’m tired of looking at the American flag smack up against the statue of St. Joseph at the front of the church.
I’m tired of there being no confititor.
I’m tired of receiving Holy Eucharist from the hands of women.
I’m tired of seeing so few altarboys but a slew of girls. (there are plenty of boys in the church so why are the parents not directing them to this?)
I’m tired of having difficulty getting to confession because it’s only on Saturdays 4-5 and I have to work every Saturday.
I’m tired of there being no Crucifix on the altar.
I’m just tired of being tired.
There is a small church in town called Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Mission in town that I’ve been looking into. Confession 5 days per week, no flags at all, all altarboys, only Father distributing Eucharist, And, of course, the entire Mass is in Latin which I know nothing about though I have been to a couple TLMs before.
When I converted, I so much wanted to BE a Catholic person and pray though I may, I’m becoming more and more disillusioned with the way things seem to be . And I’m not speaking of just one parish either.
Please don’t bombard me with negatives here, just give me some sound advice on the direction I should go. I’ve prayed a lot over this and seem to be being led in the direction of Traditional Catholicism.
