I agree that that many small children in that time span would be stressful but the fact of the matter is that they are here now. This post is not helpful. **Making passes at someone other than your wife and using dope to cope is no way to help out the situation.

I might agree he needs to get help or she needs to have him leave until he can quit using illegal drugs and seducing other women.
No but he may be using it as an indirect way out of the situation. He “wins” if he gets himself kicked out of the house so to speak. Which is why I asked the question. It definitely sounds like a man who got in way over his head and is acting out accordingly. If they hadn’t planned on 4 kids under 5 this may have compounded the issue because he wasn’t prepared before hand, and he clearly isn’t handling it well after the fact.

This doesn’t excuse his actions, but it might help explain them. You have to understand why he’s doing what he’s doing before you can work the problem. I mean if he’s blaming churches and such makes me wonder if he’s not blaming Catholicism as well for his predicament indirectly as well.

Large families can cope with whatever challenges God allows them to have, and we all have them in order to grow spiritually. The Lord needs to be first in the lives of a couple that gets married, not just one of them. Our Lord Jesus Christ gave his life for us, and is with us always in the Eucharist the source and summit of our faith. With Him all things are possible.
