Martha: I have found that there are two important rules in life.
One; Don’t sweat the small stuff
Two: Everything is small stuff.

I know that’s sounds overly simple and a bit trite. But in my life, I have found it true all too often. If I just concentrate on what is really important, irritating things like this you tuber just fade away.

Maybe a better axiom to follow is something the late Archbishop Fulton Sheen once said. He said:
“You cannot be grateful and unhappy at the same time.” Cultivate a spirit of gratitude and you’ll find concerns like the one you mention suddenly seem small and insignificant. It works for me.
Shalom!

Thank you, that is great wisdom! I appreciate it very much. It’s just that youtube (i think anyway) is a huge platform for our faith to be represented and her self promoting and lack of humility seems contrary.
But it is in Gods hands. At one point I thought it was my place to gently let her know these things aren’t very humble because I thought correction with love (i would mean well) but I’ve seen her fans attack others for so much as disagreeing and she leaves their comments there.

Most people can smell a skunk. And when they do, most run away. People like your you tuber attract those who find something of value in what they say. If her words resonate she will continue to enjoy success. If over time, people come to realize the self aggrandizement you say exists, she’ll lose quality viewers and become irrelevant to everyone except those who side with her. Either way, I don’t think there is much you can do about it, other than not let it eat at you to the point it upsets you the way it does.
Hoping you find a peaceful resolution to your angst.

You can’t know what someone’s interior life is like, especially if you don’t have a personal relationship with them. I haven’t seen this YouTube channel, but it seems somewhat presumptuous to say that this woman struggles with humility. YouTubers make money by how many people watch and subscribe; it makes sense she would self-promote to me honestly (which I feel is different than pride).

Yes. Thank you. Her viewers or “followers” as she calls them…I sense she’s moved it more towards like entertainment, a show like those other very popular youtube shows. So if she gets lots more subscribers it may be for the entertainment value and mostly there’s not hardly any other consistent Catholic mother youtuber out there. A lot of Protestant ones who are gifted speakers. Oh well, I’ve unsubscribed ever since she started pointing out how many subscribers she has, calling her viewers followers and showing all the expensive freebies she gets asking us to buy them. But I will pray for her too, at least she’s leading people to God.

Hi. I’m not sure if it’s presumption as I’m very familiar with her channel and the things she’s said in the past. They were just not humble. But all do have a point I don’t have to like her and I certainly find her attention seeking but it’s bringing folks closer to God so it can’t be a bad thing.
You’re right youtubers make more money the more subscribers they can get.

Great question, I’m sorry I don’t want to answer for Lee but the verse that popped in mind was Matthew 6:1 But take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them, otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father.2When you give alms, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets to win the praise of others. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward.”
I thought about this particular youtuber who started talking about how she helped this family during a storm in detail and how nothing happened to hers because of all the prayers from her fans.
I thought to myself, I’m sure those who were terribly affected had prayers said for them too. I had to chalk that up to her meaning well but it didn’t come out too clear.
