As a prolog, I was not able to attend the conference, but thanks to Ave Maria Radio,WDEO-AM, I got to listen to a lot of it.

I have heard of Fr. Raniero Cantalamessa but I never heard him speak. I did this weekend. I encourage anyone to listen to this preacher. He gave a wonderful keynote speech and homily.

Other speakers included:
Babsie Bleasdell,
Fr. Tom Forrest, CSSR,
Patti Gallagher Mansfield,
Fr. John Gordon,
Bishop Sam Jacobs,
Sr. Nancy Kellar, SC,
Fr. Richard McAlear,
Dave Mangan,
Rev. Francis Martin,
Ralph Martin,
James “Butch” Murphy,
Aggie Neck,
David Thorp |

Fr. Michael Scanlan, TOR was unable to participate due to illness.

A lot to listen to. Oh, I think if you contact Ave Maria Radio, you might find out if there are plans to replay any talks from the weekwend.

I listened to much of the conference on WDEO. My son’s math teacher is Dave Mangan, and we know some of the other speakers. Most of the students at his high school attend Christ the King in Ann Arbor, a prominent Charismatic Catholic parish.

The Charismatic movement was in its nascence when I was in high school, and many of my friends joined various prayer groups that came out of the movement. It was very foreign (hence scary) to me at the time, so I did not get involved.

The elementary school my son attended was started by the Word of God Community, and most of his friends are part of that community. They’re fine people (and not so scary 🙂 )
