Hi reesey and Patricia and faith and all. Hope you guys are well. Took me a while to find you all, I javen;t taken the time to see who else might be here yet.

Patricia

I’ll reply to an actual comment now.
Re- fatima and other such events.

As someone who is involved in the sale of religious candles, I can tell you that Hispanics seem to put a better emphasis on these things than the rest of us. And they sure buy a lot more candles honoring these events as well as various saints.

This is interesting, though not surprising. The section of the supermarket that has Mexican food and products made in Mexico includes a lot of religiously themed candles. When my one daughter was pregnant with my last grandchild, after a tragic miscarriage, another daughter kept buying candles with Our Lady of Guadalupe on them. She said in the Hispanic culture lighting such candles is praying for a safe delivery of a healthy baby. Must be true; that one’s a spit-fire.

Hi K!!! =D

It’s great that you’re here! Lily is posting here, too - but I’m not sure who else might be here yet…

So, so glad you found your way here. This forum changed its format recently, but it still has all the excellent categories/sub-forums/threads/etc. that it’s always had. So there’s a lot to read and contribute to…

Hope others will find there way here, too.

Hugs and

God bless.

Faith/sainteriksrose/Pier (my old name on this forum=)

It’s definitely appreciated, Lily -

I just do not have a reliable set-up, which can be very frustrating because I’ll think I posted, and it didn’t - even though it should have. ><

I always check before posting the new readings. They’ll get posted one way or another. Just pray both our computers don’t go down at the same time.😱

EDIT: A bit O/T. But how did you do your avatar? I’d like to have one if I get tired of my initial.

Hmm…

Go into your profile. I can’t remember exactly so IF my pooter cooperates, I’ll check it for you.

Just look for the option to upload a pic. Then I think it’s cropped, so this one was difficult because I wanted it showing this young man pointing to Heaven - so it was trial and error.

I’ll try and check it for you and be more specific, but idk if my computer will let me. Basically, there are settings in your profile. I’m sure you can follow them when you find them…

Good luck!

Lily -

Go to your icon pic at the upper right-hand corner of this page and click on it.

Then click on the settings icon (gear) and scroll down. There’s a profile pic option there.

P.S: Don’t forget to save your setting when you’re done.

Awesome. Do they automatically resize the picture for you? Or do you have to do that yourself? I don’t know how to crop or resize on this computer.😭

EDIT: Didn’t quite get it the way I wanted. But it’s good enough for now.

Its all Hispanic groups not just Mexicans and more commonly. the candles are used at the cemetary or in honor of deceased loved ones.
