What are your thoughts, as a traditional Catholic, when it comes to the new Amazon Synod and promotion of paganism, especially moloch (child sacrifice “god”) in the entrance of it.

I’m not a Catholic so please be easy on me.

I think you are confused between the two. Yes that pagan god idol is installed at the entrance to the colosseum as some sort of attraction.
The vatican had nothing to do with this though.
It is still all bad because that pagan demon god is the one of abortions.

The controversy and scandal within the Catholic church relating to the Synod is about that naked pregnant female wooden carving that was eventually thrown into the Tiber.

Whats my take on the Synod. Someone who is good at communicating at the Vatican should provide us some strong leadership and say we were wrong to put pagan idols on Your , us being the body of the Church, YOUR sacred ground.

Regardless of whether the original intention was of idolatrous worship or not.

And Catholics, see the confusion here, even amongst non catholics.

Moloch is not at the entrance to the Amazon Synod. Where did you get the idea that the Moloch statue was there?

The Moloch statue is a copy of an old silent movie prop and is being displayed at the entrance to a secular attraction in Rome (the Colosseum) as part of an exhibit on the history of Carthage. The Vatican is not located there, the synod did not meet there, and had nothing to do with this prop, which is also not being used for any kind of worship or ceremony.

You may want to re-read whatever you read, rephrase any question you have, and come back, because the question as asked makes no sense.

Hi, GiftofMercy corrected me. But thank you for clearing it up. I cannot seem to be able to edit the OP anymore though, how can I remove the thread if possible?

We still see that pachamama was blessed on the other end so the recent openess towards paganism from the Vatican’s side is not good.

Also let us not forget that the Colosseum has a notable significance for Christians and it would have been more acceptable if the Vatican condemned the appearance of that statue there. moloch is not a trivial matter, it is a serious offence.

We already have a thread on Moloch in Catholic News. If you wish to discuss it, please post in that thread. We are not supposed to have duplicate threads and Moloch has nothing to do with the Amazon Synod.

Statue of ancient god of child sacrifice Moloch, put on display in Rome Catholic News
WHO is making the DECISIONS for this sort of thing? And WHO is PAYING for it?? . Nov 6, 2019 - 12:18 pm EST Statue of ancient god of child sacrifice put on display in Rome Amazon Synod, Catholic, Moloch, Pachamama ROME, November 6, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – A reconstruction of a pagan idol who demanded child sacrifice was stationed at the entrance of Rome’s Colosseum as part of a secular historical exhibition. The presence of the idol raised particular concern among Catholics, as it was erect…

The fact that Lifesite chose to stir the pot by tagging this with Amazon Synod still does not make a historic exhibit in Rome sponsored by secular authorities something relevant to the Amazon Synod.
If that is what confused the OP then the lesson is to beware of Lifesite misleading tags.

Your view is understandable. Personally, I trust the authority of the Holy Father as I am an unworthy layperson.

Your view is perfectly legitimate but I just try and trust in the pope and bishops.

How do you know?

That exactly WHY I asked the questions that I did in my OP on the Moloch thread.

Is this timing coincidence?
Or was it purposeful?

WHO made and funded these decisions?

Was there ANY other (name removed by moderator)ut?

Apparently you know that LifeSite was merely “stirring the pot”.

Where is your evidence? How do you know these things?
