Los Angeles, Calif., Sep 28, 2010 / 10:32 am (CNA).- The death of Malibu’s Msgr. John V. Sheridan after a serious car accident has prompted U.S. Ambassador to Malta Doug Kmiec to reflect upon the priest’s life and the nature of faith.

Is this the same Kmiec who did his level best in 2008 to use his position and influence to convince American catholics that abortion was just another issue among many? I see he ended up with an ambassadorship out of it. (presidentially appointed, I presume. Nice “thank you” present, huh?) I can’t figure out how some people can sleep at night.

My sympathies to the family and friends of the priest and religious sister in the crash. May Christ grant them all the graces that any and all of us need to be perfected and live forever in His glorious presence.
