I oppose zionism in it’s current manifestation.

You do know that zionism is a late 19th century concept?
Why is it any concearn to you how Zionism manifests itself? Besides -its already been done. We cannot change reality and by going about claiming that the State of Israel is based on scandal is a hate based ideology.

I honestly believe that anti-Zionists suffer from a subtle form of demonic possession. We shouldn’t hate.

No doubt there were apologists for other odious regimes such as Apartheid South Africa too.
They too would have argued that “it’s already been done” back in the day.

You’re entitled to your opinion.

On the other hand, Israel is the only country in the region where Christian citizens, Muslim citizens, Jewish citizens, and every other type of citizens have rights and freedoms.

It is also the only country in the region where the Christian population is growing.

When you talk of “Apartheid South Africa”, surely you have this in mind- right?

Pretty odious.

I agree we shouldn’t hate, but I would also be very careful so as not to support anything that is murderous. Hate is simply the “wrong” choice from a basic emphatic reaction to suffering.

I think the US will slowly start to withdraw its unconditional support from Israel because the support of Israeli military actions alienate all muslims on earth. There are 6 million Israelis and 1,2 billion muslims.
Of course Israel should have support to be secure, but annexin anyone elses land should not be supported either morally or financially imho.

There will be a shift in attitude towards Israel because the new generation of peoples will judge Israel like they judge anyother nation & because globalisation has brought many cultures together allowing all kinds of viewpoints to be heard. I think this is why Europe has turned in its support of Israel in combination with events such as the attack on the Gaza flotilla that killed Turkish activists.

I’d like to see the European Union move more quickly.

Another point is that the reality of life in Palestine is not reported throughout the American media.
The attacks on the flotilla to Gaza received little or not coverage and the murder of the Turkish members of that flotilla got no coverage in the United States.

The “Gaza flotilla”, of course, was designed by the perpetrators to cause an incident, by resisting Israeli inspection of the cargo; a perfectly reasonable thing for Israel to demand when rockets are raining down on its citizens from Gaza.

Christianity also alienates a lot of Muslims. Remember, Islamists also claim that Spain should be returned to Muslim rule because it was once under Muslim rule. Is Europe okay with that too?

All the Arabs have to do to have peace and yet a third “Palestinian state” (after Jordan and Gaza) is to declare it, accept Israel’s right to exist and suppress the terrorists within their ranks. They won’t do any of those things.

Lol. We get way more media than Ireland and have heard every angle of the flotilla incident. Thanks for trying to tell us what we don’t know.

From foreign media sources perhaps.

Mainstream America media generally don’t report the facts about life in Palestine and they certainly don’t report atrocities committed by the zionist military and zionist occupiers.

We have the inevitable force of God and the eternal covenant with the Jewish people

youtube.com/watch?v=ydwxy9yqhzM

We have a country with the greatest moral, legal and historical right of existence

We have a country with a population of one tenth of one per cent of the world’s population which contributes so massively and disproportionately for the benefit of all mankind in the fields of science and technology and medicine and agriculture and green technology

We have a country with the greatest economic growth of all the western developed economies in the world, a country with a mix of private and socialized medicine that other countries can only dream of, a country with the second highest male life expectancy in the world, a country with the highest cancer survival rate in the world, a country with per capita rates of scientific publications, of patents, of doctors and scientists, of start ups that other countries can only envy.

And against this little tiny country, which is roughly the size of the State of New Jersey, which sits on about one per cent of the land of the Middle East, we have this disparate group whose single unifying factor is their maniacal hatred of the Jews and the Jewish State.

Perhaps you’re unfamiliar with CNN, the New York Times, Washington Post, PBS, and any number of US media outlets that buy into the Pallywood nonesense?

Tell Helen Thomas I said “hi”!

I’m familiar with those American mainstream media and with the exception on PBS, there is little or no coverage of zionist attacks or coverage of life in Palestine generally.

These are the facts.

There is no such thing as “Palestine”.

The would-have-been “Palestinians” have chosen war and terror instead- time and again.

Oh well. That’s their choice.

Some would-have-been Palestinians have. As with every such conflict involving “glorious rebels” fighting to kick someone else off the land under their feet, everybody else is along for the ride of violence and misery whether they like it or not.

I think our prayers should be with every human being in that area who is peaceful, or who is charged with having to defend civilians with their life, and further that those who feel driven to attack and murder are either turned from their path and saved or confounded by failure in their efforts.

Unlike us, our Lord can pick out which is which with perfection.

it will be hard for Palestinians to change things, even those who want to. A Palestinian friend of mine was related to a Muslim Arab who was popularly elected as mayor of a fair-sized town in the West Bank. He negotiated with the Israelis for a “free trade” arrangement and one in which Palestinian Arabs could cross freely into Israel to work. It was a very good deal.

But he was assassinated by a Palestinian terrorist group for having the effrontery to make life better for his people.

I can only wonder what the reaction of the towns people was like. They must have felt outraged and saddened by the loss, but at the same time probably too afraid to speak out against the assassination for fear that a terrorist might find out.

What a shame. I suppose some people would argue that if the Jews hadn’t resettled near these Palestinians, that the terrorists would have no reason to kill -which is a purely outrageous position.

thank you all its been interesting to observe the polar opposite opinion present in americanism regarding the war criminal rogue state Israel.

America & Israel together feel like the great liberators of people. liberating brown peoples with “wrong religion” from the pain of being alive, as evidenced by the 1 Million Iraqi human lives lost in the Iraqi war.
For every Israeli life goes 33 palestinian lives.

“There are no palestinians” they say, but there are definitely native peoples being ethnically cleansed for the benefit of a european racially supremacist ideology.

Ive seen the newsbroadcasts in the US and its ridiculous how one-sided the reporting are.
When people are brainwashed they off course get angry when someone mess up their reality bubble.

I wouldnt think american television would ever show a documentary like “tears of Gaza” as has been done all over Europe

I’ve seen all things who get to America being modified into being compatible with the Empire’s idolatrous ideology of materialism and narcisism.

You are living in the Great Babylon, Christianity as seen in America exists nowhere else on earth & this probably holds true for catholicism too. We know the lands of the Great Babylonian empire has been fertile ground for all kinds of sinful fruits in the church.

BBC survey measures public opinion on 22 countries, places Israel in company of North Korea, ahead of only Iran, Pakistan.
Negative perceptions of Israel in EU countries have continue to rise, reaching 74% in Spain (up 8%), 65% in France (up 9%), while in Germany and Britain the negative views remain high but stable (69% and 68% respectively). In other Anglo countries, perceptions of Israel are worsening, including in Australia (65%), and Canada (59%).
Among Muslim countries, perceptions of Israel have continued to deteriorate. Of particular concern for Israel is the country sitting on its southern neighbor, Egypt, where 85% of the population views Israel negatively, up 7% since 2011.
In Asian countries, public opinion on Israel is growing increasingly antagonistic. In China, just 23% of those surveyed view Israel positively compared with 45% negatively. In India, overall opinion has shifter from being divided in 2011 to leaning negatively. In South Korea, negative views of Israel rose a full 15% (to 69%), while positive views decreased 11% (to 20%)
The saving grace for Israel is United States, where the proportion of people viewing Israel negatively has decreased six points to 35% since 2011. This statistic marks the most positive views on Israel expressed in the US since tracking began in 2005.
I pray for the quick and complete collapse of the US & EU empire.
