A new cathedral dedicated to St. Olav will be consecrated in Trondheim, Norway, in 2017, according to a report in La Croix.
When the current cathedral was built in 1973, there were 500 Catholics in Norway’s third-largest city. There are now 6,000 Catholics there; the majority are Poles, and over a quarter are native Norwegians.
The new cathedral will be located near historic Nidaros Cathedral, which dates from the eleventh century and became a Lutheran church in 1537.

Hopefully this will bring more people to the church in Norway.

I think it will help. There’s not a lot of people in Norway, even with immigration, but underneath all of that secularism, there’s no doubt spiritual hunger.

Praise God! This is really good news. I will be praying for Catholicism to continue to grow in Norway.

… And then there is Ulf Ekman of Sweden, a founder of a mega Pentecostal Church who surprised his congregation by becoming a Catholic.
