You’ve posted a very interesting response. I post a brief response to your brief comments. Your response is to criticize and condemn me for making too much out of your brief comments. Yet, you have no problem doing the same to me and my brief comments. You accuse me of audacity and then are audacious enough yourself to draw all manner of conclusions about me, even calling me a know it all that lacks charity. Yet, who lacks charity in their response as well? You dare assume that you know me as well you think I am claiming to know you. In other words, you’re engaging in the generalizations, condemnations, and lack of charity that you’re accusing the majority of the members of this forum of engaging in. That is very interesting.

And for the record, my comment was not meant to condemn. It was meant as a simple observation by a fallible human being. Your reaction to that is noteworthy.

Let’s get this straight: You began this saga by responding to my comments on a post that had nothing to do with you. I was not responding to you nor did I reference you in my post; I was agreeing with other posters whom you disagree with and I guess that’s what got you all upset. So you posted a response that said basically: “if an internet site can destroy your faith it must not have been very strong to begin with”. This is a gross generalization, uncharitable and, as you were not a party to the posting, totally uncalled for. Had I personally attacked you in some way then you’re above response might be understandable. As it is, you are now upset because I found your offensive post offensive. The only thing “noteworhty” about this is that your obvious inability to understand that your post is offensive. I’m sure you still don’t see it so I’m going to drop it. Oh, one more thing: I might not be a “good” a “Christian” like you are but I do actually try not to hurt other’s feelings. As such, if I misinterpreted your intentions then I apologize. They sounded like a insult and I reacted thusly.

Actually, I’m not upset. There is no reason to get upset at an anonymous name on a computer screen.

Yeah, I said that. I never said that you didn’t have other issues that affected your current issues with Catholicism and Christianity. I took your statement as meaning that CAF was the straw that broke the camel’s back and that is how it sounded. You could have disagreed with me in a more charitable manner but, hey, this is only the Internet.

Again, anyone may post a response at CAF. It is not rude and uncharitable to do so. Instead of assuming it was a gross generalization, you could have asked for more clarification. Instead, you assumed the worst about me and proceeded to make the same gross generalizations that accuse me of.

Again, I am not upset. You should not assume so much about me based on limited discussion over this forum. Some yes, but not nearly as much as you have.

Congratulations, you’ve just met the man that could probably successfully challenge Saint Paul for the title of “chief of sinners.” I consider myself a barely functioning Christian and certainly no example of a “good Christian.” I can give you a whole list of my sins, failures, and imperfections. It’ll probably create a couple dozen of pages for this thread. I don’t expect to ever be good or perfect in this life but I do sincerely try my best, just as I am sure that you do as well.

I’m sorry if I came across as offensive. Honestly, it was never my intent. I’m prone to making short comments, one of my many deficiencies but I never intend them to be insults, offensive, or purposely hurtful. I do try my best to be charitable. My failings are many, though, and I do not always succeed.
