I have to tell you guys about this…this forum could use some positive family talk anyway.

At Mass yesterday, I had a moment that I hope I can remember for the rest of my life. It was just beautiful. We were headed up to Communion. My daughter (5) was in front of my wife, my oldest son (3) was in front of me, and my youngest son (almost 2) was behind me in front of my mom, walking with his prayer hands. He ran past everyone when we got to the front of the line and stood beside his sister to get their blessings. After my wife received the Eucharist, they all followed her over to the Precious Blood. I walked up behind her as she drank and saw our oldest kids staring up at her in amazement and our baby boy hugging her leg as tight as he could. And nobody else there knew that our fourth baby was growing inside of her at that very moment.

Right there in front of me was everything that matters in my life. It only lasted for a second or two (as all peaceful moments in a house with 3 kids do), but I thanked God right there for making me notice. He is truly working in our lives right now, from the big problems, right down to the smallest details. I hope I never lose sight of that.

👍

Yes, we can use some positive threads…

😊

Glad you are experiencing them, and sharing them with us! Thanks!

That is just beautiful. What a blessing you received by noticing the extraordinary in that moment.

I love those moments where, for just an instant, we realize how truly blessed we are…🙂

Wait…if she’s pregnant she shouldn’t be consuming alcohol.
The amount of alcohol in a sip of wine would not be harmful. In fact studies have shown that there is no harmful effect from a drink a day, but in the US the guidelines err on the side of caution and they generally just advise women to avoid alcohol. However in Europe it is not uncommon for pregnant women to have an occasional glass of wine. At any rate, the alcohol in a single sip of wine is insignificant.

Your post literally brought tears to my eyes :bighanky:
To think that something so simple,so perfect brings so much joy!

I am so happy for you considering your recent struggles!

My husband and I often feel this way with our 3 little ones. The more you count your blessings the more you become aware of them

Those “i have everything I’ve ever dreamed of” moments are so precious and give you the energy and will to fight through the tougher times.

I also think having many children in itself brings a deep sense of fulfilment that nothing can compare. They are visible, tangible blessings and the more there are the more love, joy and unity one experiences in marriage, but sometimes too, the more there are the lessmtime you have to sit and meditate on the riches of a big family. We cannot wait to be ready to receive God’s next blessing!

Thats so sweet!:)👍👍 But will I go to hell if I play completely innapropriate music and ruin the whole moment?

I’m sorry, I just had to do it!

I’m just joking around, Mary bless you!

Aww…I can’t wait to have kids. 🙂
God bless you and your family.

For that moment, you were in Heaven…or very close.

Continue to look for such moments. The more you look, the more you’ll find. And they need not involve only your family.

Treasure these moments.

God bless.
