All we can do is pray for this child, and every child who is being encouraged to focus on their sexuality and to build their identity on that, and (often) that alone. It is a travesty, and in my opinion constitutes child abuse. Pushing a child to dress provocatively and to start thinking about whom they are sexually attracted to at the age of 8 is absolutely wrong. What is happening in this country is tragic.

This is disturbing. I had a cousin. He had a brother and no sisters. He was the younger brother. His mother used to dress him in dresses until an older age than is proper and I believe in other ways try to make the son into a daughter. He ended up living a gay lifestyle. He died at a young age from drug and alcohol abuse.

This child doing drag is a more extreme example but there is a more general problem with parents enjoying and encouraging children to act in ways beyond their maturity. I don’t think drag is appropriate for anyone, but certainly not children. But it also isn’t appropriate for children to sing some popular songs that are vulgar or have a sexual undertone. The larger problem is adults who are immature and immoral. Really why would we expect them to be good parents.

By the sound of it you are a teenager.
And it seems you haven’t spent a lot of time reading the Catechism and the Catholic understanding of mortal sin.
