A year ago this month, the Vatican had announced the Pope’s plans to write on the theme of “human ecology” – a phrase that was originally coined by retired pontiff Benedict XVI.
This expression, spokesman Father Federico Lombardi said at the time, describes not only how the faithful must respect the environment, but also how the nature of the person – masculine and feminine as created by God – must also be defended.

It’s not mentioned in this article but I was amused at the Pope saying: “I have prepared the third draft which I have sent to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the Secretariat of State and the theologian of the Papal Household so that they can make sure I am not talking nonsense.”

😃 It’s good to have good help. 🙂

“The document was then reviewed by the Vatican Secretary of State as well as the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. “Three weeks ago, I received the responses – some rather vague,” he added.”

I wonder what the ‘vague’ responses represent? That’s so funny!

With all of the issues within the Church, do we really need to be worried about the climate change debate?

It’s difficult to know anything for sure about Pope Francis because the left is so busy trying to portray him as one of them, in just about every way one can name.

It wouldn’t be the first time the left mischaracterized a pope. Likely a significant number of Catholics still believe the left’s (false) accusation of Pope Pius XII being a Nazi collaborator, simply because it has been repeated so many times.

It may be noted that while the Pope speaks of “climate change”, I have yet to see him blame it on fossil fuel use. Maybe he does, but there are a lot of causes of “climate change”, so maybe he doesn’t.

But even if the Pope believes in MMGW in terms of fossil fuel use, does he also, then, believe (as Obama does) that utility costs should “skyrocket”; that fossil fuel use in producing food and jobs should be curtailed? One can’t imagine a Pope believing people should be made to suffer cold, hunger, unemployment and immobility for the sake of a questionable theory like fossil fuel-created MMGW.

That’s not to say there cannot be “man made climate changes” at all. Within my lifetime, areas like the Sahel and North China (also a good part of Russia) were not the deserts they are now. But that desertification was not caused by fossil fuel use, and I don’t think anyone seriously claims that it was. Desertification most definitely alters climates.

Until the Pope comes out and says “utility bills should skyrocket, unemployment should increase, and food should be more costly and rare”, then I will not believe he is truly a supporter of political MMGW.

Well, maybe. If the Pope truly believes in the Obama/Soros political MMGW program, then it could be a serious problem affecting his credibility as to other problems in the world and in the Church.

I’m still doubtful that he is a “true believer” in the leftist political determination to curtail fuel use. But I guess we’ll see.
