The following is from Pope Francis I’s message as he marked his name day, the Feast of Saint George, celebrating Mass in the Pauline Chapel in 2013:
But the Christian identity is not an identity card: Christian identity is belonging to the Church, because all of these belonged to the Church, the Mother Church.

What Pope Francis meant, though, is that our Christianity is not something we simply inherit passively but something we need to actively live out in our lives.
