Hi,
I’m in a serious relationship with an agnostic woman of muslim background. We’re very much in love and we’re at a point of discussing marriage and children. She has no problem of the children being baptized and brought up as christians but here’s the turn… In our future house she’s against hanging a cross on the wall, because it doesn’t represent her faith, and doesn’t want the people visiting to get the wrong idea… And as a sign of respect to her she wants me to respect this objection of hers. She’s even against the children wearing a cross around their necks for no plausible reason till now…
I on the other hand am pretty attached to my faith and want the opposite…
The first thing that came into my mind to reply was this phrase from the bible: “For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in his own glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels.”
But I refrained, obviously it doesn’t apply to her because she doesn’t believe in the words of the bible… So I’m stuck finding a good argument about why she should accept a cross hanged on the wall representing my faith in Jesus Christ
Would appreciate a help on this
Peace of Christ be with you all
