Like drops of water. A little here, a little there.

And I found this paragraph in the article to be quite depressing:(:(😦

“Twenty years ago, Austria, nominally at least, was 85% Catholic. Today, in the city of Vienna, Catholics account for less than half the population, and rural parishes are melting away. Various scandals have rocked the Church in Austria, among them child abuse charges against former Vienna Archbishop Hans-Hermann Groer, and the nomination of a series of reactionary priests to the rank of bishop.”

Europe is a lost cause. What’s utter insanity is to think that following the Protestants down the “modernization” rat hole will lead to resurgence of the faith. Nonsense. It will lead to the further rejection of Christ and embrace of materialism seen in the rest of Europe. The Catholic Church is about the only force still trying to keep postmodernists from throwing themselves into the abyss.

If these priests and bishops no longer wish to be Catholic then by all means, send them on their way. If they wish to change the faith of the apostles, then they are on the wrong side of the gates of hell.

Well the two things that stood out to me were how they demanded “modern-day answers to issues” and when they say they want to"openly expose all things forbidden by the Church hierarchy".

What strikes me here is how they make the Church at fault, and how they make the Church look like the one forbidding things.

Why do you need modern-day answers to questions, when you have answers from ancient times from the Son of God, in Jesus Christ our Lord?

What things does the Church forbid that were not first forbidden by God and Jesus Christ?

Only for a little while. Ultimately what this is doing is clearing the way for a complete Islamicization of Europe. Mankind cannot exist in a spiritual vaccuum; if Christianity is allowed to expire, the void will be filled by some other form of faith; and the strongest spiritual force in Europe right now is Islam. Sorry, but true.

I am afraid this is the future… Let us just all pray, nothing is more powerful the that

This is sad. I do find it amusing, though, how myopic these priests and their supporters are. The Church in Europe is undergoing a massive decline, yet these priests think the concerns of postmodern, secular Europe are the pressing issues that must be addressed. Meanwhile, the Church is booming in places like Africa and Asia, where many of these “pressing” issues garner far less support among both priests and laity. I suppose these European priests, with their liberal counterparts in North America, can continue to rebel all the way to total irrelevancy.

Many of their demands have already been met by the Old Catholic Church. How well has it fared in modern Europe? Booming? I doubt it.

Reactionary priests be damned!
They mean good conservative priests!
A recent attempt to install a “reactionary” bishop nominee was foiled by the bishops: they ganged up against Rome; and the nominee backed out of it.

Its ironic that Cardinal Schonborn should threaten them. He hasnt been a perfect example of obedience:
Leading a recent protest against Papal authority…
Going off to Medjugorje for a “private” visit, and hosting one or two of the “visionaries”.
But: good on him if he kicks em out. Let em rebel! They might have to learn the truth the hard way. 🤷
