Ancient living tribe discovered in Brazil.

I agree AlessandraRose, it’s obvious that this culture wants to remain separate from the modern world. It’s no one’s business to try and change their culture and beliefs. Live and let live.

I must say the notion of Christianity being non-violent is ridiculous. There is no such thing as a religion without blood stained hands.
Atheist ideological movements have blood on their hands, too. I’m tired of hearing atheists blame religion for bringing violence into the world. Do some people use religion as a justification for violence? Yes, but atheists have used their ideologies for violence, too. So, obviously, violence is a human problem, a problem that won’t be solved by juvenile, atheist insistence that “religion” is the cause of unrest in the world.

ahem clears throat a little

Isn’t it cool that there are a people that no one else has seen before? Pretty fascinating. Makes me wonder what they think about stuff. But of course if I could ask them I would change their whole world, so I can’t. Maybe I shouldn’t wish to?

I still think it’s neat that they are there.

I saw the photos a week or two when they first hit the web.

One of the first questions I asked myself: is this a hoax?

Now, I understand that these photos were taken deep within the interior, and so I don’t discount the possibility that these are true natives that never had been contacted before. But still, you wonder.

It’s uncertain from what I have read whether they are truly isolated or not. But it is highly likely that isolation is, in the long run, not good for a people, unless somehow they are hermitically sealed into a sort of “human zoo”; something that’s not likely possible.

Some scholars maintain that tribes such as this are remnants of much larger tribes that inhabited the Precolumbian Amazon Basin. They did not, after all, spontaneously generate where they are; they came from somewhere. It is increasingly believed by anthropologists that both North and South America had massively greater Precolumbian populations than are recorded, but because human diseases introduced by Europeans and Africans proceeded well ahead of them; sometimes centuries ahead, native populations in many places were reduced to tiny remnants.

Those tiny remnants, it is believed, “went primitive”, not out of choice, but out of sheer poverty of means that frequently attends tiny populations.

It appears to be the case that the immune systems of Amerinds vs. Europeans, Asians and Africans are genetically different; more geared to parasites than to microbes.

There is really nothing judgmental to say about the phenomenon. Europeans, Asians and Africans had traded diseases among themselves for millenia, and accrued widespread immunity or resistance to microbial diseases. Amerinds, however, were likely descended from small groups that became isolated in the Americas hundreds of thousands of years ago. It was inevitable that sometime or other, some group of Europeans, Asians or Africans would land on the shores of the Americas and spread diseases to which the Amerinds had little defense. Likely, by now, exposed native Americans have acquired most immunities by simple survival of those with the most adaptable systems.

If all that is true, it is no kindness to attempt to isolate people such as these. Sooner or later, they will be exposed to Eurasian/African disease, if only by killing and eating some domestic hog gone feral. (The likely fate of the Mississippian cultures) I’m with the previous poster who opined that they should be introduced to at least some kind of medically supervised contact.

I understand the sentiment of your post but Catholics are commanded to spread the word, as are many others.

The how is the question, no blood stains is my guidance.

Peace and blessings to all.
DUDE!!! Our diseases could kill them because their immune systems have not been exposed to the same viruses and bacteria. I am sure that Christ does not want us to wipe them out.

Looks like the Colonial mindset is still well and alive. When will Europeans ever learn from their past horrific mistakes?

Ave Maria

And the horrific mistake was traveling across an ocean? You do understand, do you not, that the first Europeans, Asians or Africans who set foot in the Americas, for any reason or just as castaways, would certainly have introduced diseases that proved catastrophic?

Steven John is Muslim, or at least has been promoting Islam all around CA.

The first Native Americans* were* Asians. They migrated, not to find a spot in the forest to avoid everyone else’s culture, but probably in search of better land and game. They spread quickly over the Americas, became isolated and in some cases lost some immunities.
Eventually, the microbes they are not immune to will catch up to them. They may come in on the air or in the water, on animals or on goods traded by merchants, or from military bases that may encroach on their territory, but the germs are coming anyway.
They deserve the truth, and it is if anything very patronizing to deny them the truth simply because we have some emotional desire to think Eden is still inhabited somewhere. They can handle the truth. They can develop immunities. If we come a few at a time, with medical supplies and no intent to take what they have, just a desire to offer what we can, we will do less harm than would happen if we don’t.:twocents:

It could work the other way too, of course. Nobody really knows where HIV or Ebola came from. It is only known that they were not widespread until fairly recently.

The problem with your argument is simple: atheists don’t claim to represent God on earth, atheists don’t claim to be doing God’s work, atheists don’t claim to represent the “prince of peace”, etc., I think you get the idea. The bottom line is that if you claim to be holier than thou then you better act holier. If you can’t do any better than the athiests then your claims of holiness seem rather moot.

Leave the poor folks alone! If they’ve survied all this time then they don’t need any help from us.

Most religious i know claim to be sinners.

But you have a valid point from my experience of some atheists understanding shared.

If you read the posts, Steven John is exclaiming Allah is God and Jesus just a prophet.
he was narrated to have said no one is good but the Father (God, The Most High God / Allah…)
Jesus (pbwh) is narrated to have said God is greater than he is.
Jesus (pbwh) taught us to serve The Most High Gods will as did of the prophets (pbwt).
Jesus (pbwh) prayed to this God and witnessed of us to pray to this God as did of the prophets (pbwt).
Which statement is false?

I cant speak for Catholics but respect this is their faith, in my eyes they do this out of kindness and care.
(If you have a good thing you can keep it to your self or offer to share it with the world)
I never said they will invade these people and give them germs.
I give them credit as an educated people that will act with consideration from scientific learning and experience.
DUDE read my other posts.

No it is timeless scripture, (SPREAD THE GOOD NEWS) it does not change, you would have done well to read on. When i leap i often fall in a hole.

I promote the truth of God as i see it, regardless of any religion.

I pleases to be called Muslim if you understand it as i do. (Man who submits to God.) from this statement i am an aspiring Muslim, you see i am a sinner.

People share with me and i learn that what i saw was wrong
or am re affirmed it is right
or see it can be interpreted in more than one way.
This for me is faith alive.

In this thread i you will find some bible statements as i have spoken of my understanding of Catholics.

Peace be to all.
