This is a very sensitive subject. Has anybody here experienced serious anger with God? I’ve had my moments of annoyance but I’ve never really been angry with God. My husband is however. We are jobless right now and have 3 very young children. We love them, but we are also very stressed, afraid and overwhelmed. We have 5 month old twins, one of whom is high needs, and an almost 2 year old and it is obviously very demanding and he is angry with God for ‘making babies so helpless and dependent’. He is even doubting that heaven exists. He certainly has depression, which he feels will be lifted when he gets a job, and I agree, as we’ve unfortunately been through that part before, but what can we do about this new crisis of faith? I’ve had depression, but I never lost my faith in God and religion was almost my sole comfort then, so I don’t think I can understand how he is feeling right now. If you’ve experienced this how did you overcome it?

I was furious with God when I had my first miscarriage. When I had my second, I wanted nothing to do with him. I think it’s ok to be mad at God. He can handle it. But I can say that God wasn’t able to help me heal until I let him back in. It is easy to blame God for our disappointments and shortcomings. It is a blessing to turn it over to Him and let the Holy Spirit work through us. Those Children aren’t a burden, they are evidence of God’s love and perfect patience. Good luck and God Bless your family!

My heart goes out to you and your family. I am going through a similar experience, laid off for over a year and my wife finds out Monday if she is losing her job. looking back over the last year and a half I can see numerous times where God has sustained and guided our family. I can understand your husband’s anger, encourage him to get it out. Have him write a letter to God telling Him everything he is mad about. Then have him write a list of everything he is thankful for. There are no easy answers or psychobabble slogans that are going to make you feel great instantly. These are the times when you need to lean on God and friends in your congregation. I will pray for your family. God Bless you.

Point blank… I have been pissed at God and told him. Literally. I cursed to the sky saying that I am angry! Tell the Lord how you feel… Tell Him that you do not understand why you are in this positions. He can take anything you give him! Ask for understanding and give you peace in your situation! This will work. The unfortunate part is that it works in Gods time, not yours! I know it sucks! Pray often and hard that God gives you the peace you ask for.

I was angry with God after my two and a half year old niece died.I watched her suffer along with her parents and had a crisis of faith, because I didn’t think a just God would take a child.Eventually I realized that there are some situations that God allows for reasons we will not understand until we see God face to face.We just have to trust in the Lord that these situations happen for a reason. They refine us and give us character(According to the bible)

Twice since 2008 I have been in the state of quickly dying form cancer. I was afflicted right as I reached retirement age, just as occurred to my father. I watched him die and saw myself following in his footsteps that lead where I did not want to go. I was first diagnosed with aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma (Peripheral T-Cell Lymphoma-NOS) in stage IV, with 54 tumors and cancer in my bone marrow. The prognosis was poor. I began preparing to die. I accepted that I was dying. After four months of intensive chemo that involved eight different anti-cancer drugs (which was killing me faster than the cancer was), the cancer came raging right back. The prognosis had now gone from poor to worse. At that point, medical science had nothing to offer but an additional dose of intense chemo and best wishes, as my cancer is considered incurable, inoperable, non-irradiatable and highly resistant to chemotherapy. For the second time, I began preparing to die.

Yet, all through this, I was not once angry with God. I take the view that my life has been blessed, and that I am not the owner of my life. God gave it to me and He calls it back without notice. The eternal life which He has promised to those who love Him is so much to be preferred to this life, that cancer became a blessing. At one point, I simply abandoned my life to Him. And, once I had done that, He gave it back to me. A clinical trial of an experimental drug providentially appeared. It was designed for relapsed cancer of the exact type that I had.

I went on the drug and have been in complete remission for over two years now. This type of cancer normally responds to the drug for 13 months, then returns or progresses. In my 26th month, there is no sign of it. No one can explain why. My oncologist calls this “a miracle to be watched”. My life hangs by a thread - called prayer.

Point of all this is that we are blessed, even in our infirmities, more than we will ever know in this life. Each stress and trauma is intended for our eternal benefit. During all of this, I have asked mainly for the strength to carry on and I have unfailingly received it.

What you are experiencing is a temporary setback. It is testing of your faith and purification through trial by fire. The day will come - is coming even now, when you will look back and thank the Lord for the strength which He gave you through this, as He is preparing you for that which is to come. Without testing and strengthening, you would not be up to the next test. Just keep praying and giving thanks for all that you have, and do not despair over what you seem to lack.

God and His love are with you through all of this.

May Christ’s peace be with you.

Thank you for your beautiful testimony. We should always remember that God is infinitely powerful, and always fully in control of everything that happens to us. If God allows some trial to befall us, despite our repeated prayers to take it away, it’s because the trial serves some higher good in our life. We need to trust God’s infinite wisdom and infinite love.

I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. Mark 10:15

As dependent as your children are on you and your husband, so must you be with God. And so you are. At this present moment. Honestly, can you really think of anyone upon whom you would prefer to be totally dependent?

My husband has been angry at God since his parents separated and divorced when he was a young teen. He prayed to God that they would not divorce as it meant they would both go to Hell. They still divorced. My husband closed his heart and mind to God at that point, and believes that whatever he does in this life is of his own making. He works too much, like he’s possessed, like there was no Resurrection…as if he is saving himself through all his work.

We’ve been married 22 years, there is a wall between us because of his wall against God, he is not a spiritual leader to our sons and not the kind of Christian husband I wish he could be. It is a painful, miserable way to live.

Your husband is acting like a spoiled child “Well if I don’t get things the way I want them, I’m taking my ball and bat and going home!” God doesn’t punish us with trials, he gives us the best through our trials! In fact I think people whose lives are going well are the ones who aren’t receiving God’s current blessing! Now isn’t that a strange way to think…

🤷

God can take our temper tantrums, but pray for your husband, that he doesn’t close off his heart. Pray WITH him, get on your knees and give all of your fears and troubles to Him, and turn over your worries. He tells us over and over again in the Bible not to worry, that He will provide for us! “Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all these things will be added unto you.” And one of my favorites, “What does it profit a main if he gains the world, but loses his soul?”

I do think that’s a strange way to think. Mostly because I think it’s strange to assume that lives that are going well today have always been that way. I don’t know a single person whose life has always been a cake walk.

I know children that have suffered the first 15-20 years of their lives with major illness to FINALLY pull out as an adult. Where another might assume they are “well”… and they are… TODAY!

OP, I watched my parents financial struggle my entire life. So much so, it caused me great stress. I can remember, all of us looking for change in the house so we could buy some groceries. My fathers job had major swings. Yet, he held it together. He did things you won’t MOST people to do today. Once he offered to work (apprentice) for someone for a full week for free to prove he could learn the job. He told them they could let him go at the end of the week if he couldn’t pull it off without paying him a dime. He was then hired at the end of the week at a wage that wasn’t enough… but it was made to be enough. I can remember our home going into foreclosure a handful of times… I also remember stories of my father living in a tent with his parents for some time because they just couldn’t find work… They both went on to do rather well…but what a SERIOUSLY rough time… My dad and siblings graduating from undergrad school, having their own businesses, having rough spots themselves… but doing AMAZING in the end…

Today, my parents seem VERY WELL OFF… Credit scores in the top numbers. We still have the house, and I say WE because it will go to myself and sibling when my parents move on. As it’s PAID for now. One of my parents started a family biz that the other parent didn’t think would even fly… and now generates an excellent cash flow, and income for myself and siblings…as we work it as well.

I’m not bragging… trust me… It’s been a barely there road, and certainly not paved. My family considers ourselves VERY BLESSED… we made it! And yes, there are still difficult times. One of parents dealing with a Cancer DX last year, and the trauma that caused.

On the other side of my family we had a dear member DX with extreme cancer, she will die probably within the month. As we rally together for support, her father dropped dead of heart attack. We are now likely to have 2 funerals within the SAME immediate family within a month. And it’s VERY sad and heartbreaking. But WOW, as we looked around at the family and friends that came forward. We are BLESSED!!! We are not doing this alone.

I also imagine (as a twin mom myself) you both are EXHAUSTED. Which turns any difficulty into what seems a near impossability. You can’t even think straight!

Get yourself registerd with you nearest twins club. Let the director know you are having probs financially (you won’t have to pay the club fee generally)… Offer to donate the clothes and stuff you grow out of, but ask if there is anyway they can help you out. I can’t tell you how many times our club completly outfitted a family with all they needed for their kids. You can also hook up with some moms and dad for alot of emotional support that you need. We deliver food to new moms… we’ve gone over to watch kids just so mom can take a nap…

It’s hard that children are so dependant… but that’s just a fact. God has thought you two special enough to handle your bunch. He’s telling you he has “faith” so to speak that you can do it. You just need to keep looking for direction. I think sometimes it’s his way to show us that we are also the little infants, and we are dependant on HIM… And that we can be. He will show us the way. But we can’t be stubborn, stamp our feet and insist on reinventing the wheel…

You might have to move to find better work. He might have to accept a job he thinks is beneath him. YOU might have to work for a bit, and DH watch the kids. (That’s what DH and I did when his great high paying job went away, we packed up and lived with my parents for 4 months while he secured a new and MUCH better job… I picked up pc work…(for pay so low, I haven’t been that low paid since COLLEGE… but it covered our fixed bills… and DH was in charge of the kiddos… gave him some precious time with them, and a little insight to my crazy days)

GET yourselves to mass. Pray for the direction you need to get back on your feet. Pray to recognize a path or open door that you might not have expected.

I know it’s not easy… and I know some people seem to have easier situations… Your family is in my prayers. I know it can be scary… realize, and I KNOW this doesn’t help your situation, but realize it’s REALLY easy to find someone how is MUCH worse off than you. Then realize, how blessed you REALLY are…

My prayers are with your family… for your hearts, souls, AND financial well being!

I never been mad to God. 'Cause when bad things happen to me, I don’t think He’s the one doing it. I just pray to Him, ask the help of the Saints and the guidance of the Angels in Heaven. :signofcross:

:blessyou:

And, I forgot to say in my last post, that your husband is GRIEVING the child he wanted to have, and that is a part of coming to terms with the child that you have been given by God. Men don’t usually cry the way we women do, they act out their pain in ways we wouldn’t recognize. Talk to your husband, tell him you know it’s been a hard time for your family, but make sure he knows that you NEED HIM as your husband and the father of his children. Even if it is hard, even if it doesn’t look the way you two thought it would. You’ll get through it if you stick together and lean on each other and on God!👍

Find all the services and support that is out there to help you through this. Grab onto whatever hand is offered. Don’t be ashamed to ask for and accept help. One day you will be in a better position and can help others. There are organizations that will help with disabled children. Start looking them up on the internet.

Hang in there, I will certainly put you and your family in my prayers.
