Crack M: Please don’t take that the wrong way. I love everybody. Even the mad ones!!!

Boy, it’s quiet here today. You could hear a pin drop. Everybody must be eating.
But not meat, it’s Friday.
Mad- cow burgers for the grill this weekend…😉

Don’t you love her humor!!! This lady loves her meat!!! You are what you eat!!! For anyone not familiar with Mad Cow Disease I am posting a little excerpt below:

MAD COW DISEASE
The BSE Epidemic in Great Britain
*An Interview with Dr. Frederick A. Murphy *Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of California Davis
by Sean Henahan, Access Excellence

*What exactly is BSE?

BSE, that is bovine spongiform encephalopathy, also known in Britain as the mad cow disease, is a progressive, lethal central nervous system disease of cattle. It is characterized by the appearance in neurons in the brain of affected cattle of vacuoles, clear holes, that give the brain the appearance of a sponge – this is where the term spongiform came from.

BSE was initially recognized in cattle in the UK in 1986; there is good information that it had not occurred before then. Epidemiological research led to the conclusion that the bovine agent had originated from the scrapie agent, which had been present in sheep in the United Kingdom for at least 200 years. It is presumed, but will likely never be proven, that the scrapie agent jumped species and moved into cattle when sheep offal (the leftover parts of butchered animals) was included in protein supplements fed to cattle. After cattle started to die, cattle carcasses and offal were included in the same protein supplements – this seems to have amplified the epidemic… *

ok but the peta video is not the only information that we are using to support what we’re saying.

still no comments on the other links i put up? neither the pew commission or the sustainable farming site are terrorists, i promise 😉
Well, here I go being obstinate & negative again but a little research on the Pew Foundation/Commission/Charitable Trust-whatever- folks might give you pause.
In 2007 they donated $360,000.00 to Planned Parenthood of Southeast PA.
Beyond Planned Parenthood, they donate funds to Greenpeace,The Sierra Club, etc, etc. You can look it up online but they have been a well known left wing outfit for some time now.
I’ve read the document they came up with re. farming but knowing the source take it with a large grain of salt.As soon as I heard the word “Pew” I thought “Oh, oh…”
Every other program on PBS seems to be funded by them.If you’re a fan of PBS’s politics, OK. I’m not.
There’s some truth in the whole “sustainable farming” spin. The problem is that many or most of the people promoting it are clueless re. farming practices and make dietary decisions based on hype rather than reality. If they become involved in decisions affecting agricultural practices we may all go hungry.

I didnt mean to offend anyone
Welcome to the discussions Suzy!!! You didn’t offend anyone. Cracker Mom is a tough old bird!!! She used to be a Viking in a previous life!!! We all love her!!! We get together on most Sundays and go over to her house with a big bag of bagels and a few tubs of tofutti. She’s usually pleasant, but always scoots us out before ***Desperate Housewives ***comes on. She swears that’s not her favorite show, but we can do the math…

We love you Cracker Mom!!! ❤️

P.S. Sorry for my silliness. I must be lightheaded from not eating any meat.

Grr, why’d they have to add that last one? It was such a tempting choice… -.-;; I hate letting a coin do the decision making for me. Good thing I chose omnivore though cuz that is the most common choice you’d get out of people.

As for my personal tastes, I like meat. Very, very much in fact. 8)
I eat vegetables too, but you won’t find a lot of them that taste good to me without a good deal of meat mixed in their otherwise intolerable flavor. XP

Also, each time I see PETA propaganda against eating meat, I pretend to point a butcher’s knife at some farm animals and quote:
“This is your purpose! Die with honor.” - Kratos, the Ghost of Sparta (God of War II)

and this contributes to the threads content about factory farms,…how?

yeah, we don’t like them too much, either. They give us a bad name. When Ingrid Newkirk said she was having herself sterilized we all cheered for joy! Stupid people shouldn’t breed!

That one guy: Quit acting like a light headed girl The bagels are from Bruegger’s Bagel Bakery: Many of the bagels are vegan. Non vegan bagels are the honey grain bagel, egg bagel, sun-dried tomato and spinach herb bagels (contain romano cheese), and the jalapeño cheddar (cheese) bagel. Even Cracker Mom finds the cheesy ones scary.

You have to have a fairly thick skin to post online.Being a Christian site the forums here are much more charitable than many others on line.
It’s good to express opinions.Nothing offensive about that.We all differ on some subjects, agree on others.🙂
Catholics are “universal,” diet isn’t dogma. There’s room for all.

Cracker Mom: How come you won’t be my friend???** I’ll give you a piece of cheese.**
Aside to the guy in the uniform: It’s soy cheese.

that is unforuntate they donate to PP… but it matters a whole lot more to me who donates to them than who they donate to (in terms of the ethics of their reports). i have nothing against PBS, sierra club, or greenpeace. they are environmental protection groups, and academics, which is fitting for the type of research the commission was assigned to do.

i don’t know what it means to be a “left wing” outfit. some people call me left wing because i’m vegan and vote for measures that protect the earth… some people call me right wing because i’m catholic and pro-life. i got a kick out of the explanation about eco-terrorism in this video - reckon i fall into the category “whacko” LOL 😉

anyway fair enough, we’ll have to agree to disagree as to the reality of the pollution and health risks to the public about factory farms.

you should see him when he dresses up like the construction dude in the village people 😃
:hammering:
Macho macho man, I got to kill animals to be a macho man…

Hi Marfran!👋
Are we having fun, yet?
It is amazing just how ignorant people choose to remain. You can give them facts until you are blue in the face and they will still come up with these fairy tales and blatant inflammatory comments. Then deny it when you point it out. Try the ignore function on your user control panel for these trolls. It helps to keep the blood pressure down. That is what I do. That way I only have to read posts from intelligent people!👍
Great idea 👍 ---- I just do not understand the W H Y of the inflammatory comments - what is up with posters who respond like that?? Maybe it is all the meat eating to take a page from their play book?
