Maybe you should try a personal sacrifice to give glory to God. God seems to be missing in this vegan sacrifice for the good of all people, spin.
Has anyone else notice it?..
For the animals, for peace, for the poor(but not really), for my health, why doesn’t God play must of a larger role in this train of thought? It’s more about what makes “me” feel good about myself.
It is all about God. I have learned to keep quiet about that part because, A) it doesn’t work with Atheists,…and B) you guys will start saying stupid stuff like “holier-than-thou” and “you think you’re better than us” and all sorts of childish nonsense. As a matter of fact, many Catholic Vegans started at Lent and stayed. I myself consider it to be in reparation for the cruel and unnecessary violence towards the helpers God gave us (and I am not alone). Genesis 2:8 Yahweh God said, ‘It is not right that the man should be alone. I shall make him a helper.’
19 So from the soil Yahweh God fashioned all the wild animals and all the birds of heaven. These he brought to the man to see what he would call them; each one was to bear the name the man would give it.
Then to back up a bit, Genesis1:29 God also said, ‘Look, to you I give all the seed-bearing plants everywhere on the surface of the earth, and all the trees with seed-bearing fruit; this will be your food.
30 And to all the wild animals, all the birds of heaven and all the living creatures that creep along the ground, I give all the foliage of the plants as their food.’ And so it was.
I don’t see anything about eating animals in there. So, it was obviously NOT HIS ORIGINAL intention.
When God finally allows eating animals He gives an exception and a warning
Genesis 9:4… with this exception: you must not eat flesh with life, that is to say blood, in it.
5 And I shall demand account of your life-blood, too. I shall demand it of every animal, and of man. Of man as regards his fellow-man, I shall demand account for human life.
Sorta sounds like he is saying,“You must account for everything you kill, animals and man.”
And even the Pope! Cardinal Ratzinger , echoing official church teachings, as laid out in the Catholic Catechism, which states clearly that “Animals are God’s creatures. He surrounds them with his providential care. By their mere existence they bless him and give him glory. Thus men owe them kindness. We should recall the gentleness with which saints like St. Francis of Assisi or St. Philip Neri treated animals. . . . It is contrary to human dignity to cause animals to suffer or die needlessly.”
Matthew 17:17Jesus replied, “You unbelieving and corrupt generation! How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you?”:banghead:
